I’ve gone…two, maybe three days now, without playing the game (since I picked it up like, day after launch) and…it feels good. I know I’m probably missing stuff. But that’s OK.
(I need to remind myself of this thought before I try to get into like, FFXIV or some other game with missable events and whatnot)
FFXIV missable events go on for weeks or months and can usually be completed in an hour.
Like I guess there’s a few cosmetic items in a recent months long event you’d have to grind longer for but even then, that has a fixed repeatable reward that is always given for the completion of a few of the dungeons with no RNG involved.

Shit, I had a meteor shower two nights ago, made a bunch of wishes, and didn’t get to play yesterday. I’m not seeing any fragments today. Are they strictly available the next day and not the next time you play?

I haven’t seen anything definitively saying they disappear after a day. The only thing I’ve seen about star fragments spawning past the day after you wished for them is a forum post that looks like it’s for New Leaf. You may want to wait later on in the day to see if they spawn.

The new update has arrived!
The Dream Suite functionality is back, tied to any bed where you can sleep in order to meet up with Luna. If there’s a way to visit a random dream, I haven’t found it; as far as I can tell, you have to provide a dream address each time.
I’m just about to start the process of relocating my rocks, so you might find a few stray mannequins, but I went ahead an uploaded my island anyway: DA-9980-7115-7760. Share your dreams with me!!

hmm that kinda sucks, I would have thought the whole point of the dream suite is to visit random other players’ villages, with all the unexpected surprises that might bring. Why bother sharing codes when you can just visit each other’s islands via the airport?

The draw of this to me at least is you can visit other islands without the owner having to be online. You don’t get to take any items or material back with you afaik but can grab their custom patterns. I see what you mean though, it would be a cool feature if the game picked one at random to send you to if you didn’t specify a code or you had some curated list to browse. Oh, uh, I forgot NL had the random feature…
I’m hoping someone does an LSD/Osamu Sato-themed island. Just being able to visit one in New Leaf that did a good job of recreating a few of the LSD dreams (and did a spot-on rendition of Sato’s head) was a highlight for me.

Most of my memories of the Dream Suite in New Leaf were villages that seemed broken, either by some glitch or by exploits so there were trees and houses in places they shouldn’t be, and lots of Hatsune Miku flags and Game of Thrones town tunes
Yeah, thinking back on it now the LSD town was the only one I ever remember visiting so that sure skews my opinion of it.
there’s now a search engine for custom patterns, an official take photos without the UI option, and the anime eyes glasses now match your skin tone lol
