I remember a huge part of why I was originally excited about splatoon was that it wasn’t another franchise. LoL at the idea of anything ever being allowed to be self contained ever again

Wow, is that the original music too? Between the wild colors, the ridiculous character designs, a card battling system, and THAT MUSIC, this game looks hype as hell.
I think I remember @VastleCania talking about liking it a lot?
booo
yeah this makes it not worth it at all for me
untold is the way to go
I like how Sony and MS went with the “games cost a metric ton of money to produce now, so we gotta raise the price to $70” excuse while Nintendo seemingly went with “we raised this single game to $70 because we know you’ll pay it”. Not sure whether to shake my fist or appreciate their honesty.
Jokes on them, I don’t even own a Switch so by the time I get to it there will be a greatest hits version discounted back down to $60.
it’s so damn easy to just have the romsets for GB and GBA games and play them on whatever device that renting a scant few of them for a monthly fee is so…unappealing. I thought that they might use whatever hardware factory they had to make the Game & Watch Mario or Zelda handhelds to make a GB/GBA classic. An original format GBA with a better backlit screen and rechargeable batteries would maybe be worth it. One advantage the Snes and Nes classic had was relative build quality and frontend, plus the controllers were basically perfect. But this way, they can put in the minimal effort and get the maximum amount of money out of it. It feels so cheap
The Nintendo Selects/Player’s Choice program no longer exists on Switch so no
my guy, most of Nintendo’s 3DS and Wii U games are still full priced, a month from their shops getting shut down
nintendo is fully disneyified, the price and compromised availability is supposed to represent a significant portion of the appeal
I am also a devotee, and let me tell you the ridiculous plot and the absolutely sumptuous (but sometimes still ridiculous) environments are also great.
Oh and all your inventory is in card form too, including perishable items which will rot in your inventory lol
Aw fuck, is it?
I bought it. It sure is weird. Haven’t gotten to gacha stuff yet, but the computer handed my ass to me in one inning, so there is that I guess.
It’s cool that these Baten Kaitos ports are happening, but it’s funny that they happen one week after I’ve finally given up hoping and waiting and settled for emulating them on this MacBook
Everyone talking about the price Zeldo got me real worried about the japanese price. It turns out to be 7,900 yen.
Ah cool. I paid more for FF7R. I paid more for Elden Ring. I was gonna buy it along with everyone else for whatever the price. Here’s to Nintendo’s bajillion dollars.
Seconded/Thirded. It is rad and wild and you wouldn’t expect it starting in the first JTPG trope village. Sakuraba’s OST may be his peak in wild battle themes paired with catchy bgm tracks, and then there are some epic tracks.
Inventory Rot was A Thing in this game, yesss
katamari ; w ;
saw someone i like to read on twitter talking ab baten kaitos and showing off the environments a few weeks ago and it looks so gorgeous. seems like a gem!
if Nintendo charging 70 bucks for TotK is a sign that Japanese publishers are shifting the kind of price tiering they’ve had domestically over to Western markets
hear me out Koei
I will pay 110 dollars for Winning Post 10
That’s a late cartridge era price when I could presume Ogre Battle was $70 because it had extra memory inside or whatever.
