And america. There’s way more phones than any other piece of tech out there.
Yeah Wikipedia tells me Japan is actually behind on phone popularity nowadays.
That said, they might have even less consoles on a relative basis, so the global stats don’t necessarily mean that much for Square’s decision-making.
wait wtf
Final Fantasy 7 Battle Royale?
…what?
I think there were some old games like lemmings on mega drive that had an option for music and weak sound effects, or no music and beefier sfx
yeah maybe I’ve just been brain poisoned but I don’t really have a problem with anything squeenix is doing here, and I reckon it’s probably gonna be like another 4 years before we see part 2 of the remake anyway, so I don’t mind them dripping out stuff like this to tide us over.
I’ll also be ~shocked~ if intergrade doesn’t come to PC in some form before the end of 2020. there are no pure exclusives anymore. I wouldn’t be surprised if the yuffie episode becomes DLC for the PS4 eventually too.
but also as someone who is much more invested in ff7r than I thought I’d be, I still am not planning on buying a PS5 anytime soon and I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything critical with this yuffie thing.
but also LOL at yuffie being a playable character before red XIII
i can’t really remember much about 7r besides not being totally horrified - my expectations were low (wouldn’t have been surprised if goofy showed up in a half hour cutscene about saving aeris with the regularis novacrux) until the nomura gone wild ending and enjoying wall market
I just want a 480p 27fps Unreal Engine downgrade of FF7R for my Switch.
batshit ending notwithstanding I remain genuinely impressed by how thoughtful and smart the writing and execution is. not just by square’s standards, but really the industry at large.
it just makes the ending all the more baffling.
I mean it’s hard to see all of this supplementary material around FF7R as anything other than anchoring it within The Compilation of Final Fantasy VII and preparing the way for Even More Bullshit
the end of 2020 was two months ago
what are you talking about. it’s been 2020 for five years now.
Pokemon Legends? More like Pokemon of the Wild
Did Nintendo settle on a single engine for their first party switch games?
the ending and the pre-ending were both very bad, I remain v upset with that terribly paced bonus red xiii dungeon, the way they tried to handle “changing the past” (and sephiroth in general) even though the concept is kind of neat, and really wish they’d cut the early out-of-nowhere burned village flashback in favour of ending the first remake chapter at kalm rather than midgar, and the yuffie interquel looks worse than anything I remember in the game
it was genuinely nice and unique in parts otherwise though yeah
i love the ending and only nomura can judge me.
I am reading these tea leaves to mean exclusivity is re-upped for another year and it’ll be after March 2022 on EGS with Nvidia cash
I did not play the game but I find the concept of the ending delightful
