before I figured this out, i came to the conclusion that I must’ve accidentally triggered some sort of bug, because i’d been around the village like 4 times and even had my sensor going. so i saved and reloaded. everyone came back. still couldn’t find the straggler.
got a lot of black bokoblin horns out of the ordeal tho

gerudo gender thoughts
i’m bummed with how nintendo/this team fumbled an opportunity to make right on all the icky gender shit from BOTW in this. they omitted the Girl Outfit from the carryover of the last game’s gear and Vilia the trans girl (who’s previously been the butt of a bunch of horrid jokes) is conspicuously absent from the “remember this NPC” of that whole quest arc
they seem to have got the memo that they stepped in it last time but instead of doing anything with the feedback they just took the coward’s path (and removed an opportunity for gnc players to self express) to avoid discourse
i didn’t expect anything better from nintendo for what it’s worth, but emotions are emotions

Not sure how far you’ve dug or been exposed to other people’s findings but there’s at least two equip items that let link flex a little gender. I haven’t gotten to the gerudo section yet. It’s my last stop on the regional disturbances tree.
I’ve put a decent amount of time in and it feels like I’m still in the first act. I miss getting new clothes as often as I did in BotW, but I don’t miss shrine puzzles where you had to rotate the switch.

this is probably assumed but twitter broke onebox embeds intentionally to force paying $100/mo. for API keys or embedding their whole hideous UI and whitelisting third-party components from them, neither of which i’m going to do

Agreed, false ceilings are the best trope in game design.
When I played LttP for the first time as a kid, I remember that chill down my spine the first time it gave me a peek into that isolated corner of the Dark World as a rabbit, and see the edge of that rainbow tower I couldn’t reach
