do you think the guy who did the soundtrack to SAVAGE was listening to this stuff

anyway posting here bc i heard the below song on a mixtape and thought it was some bizarre parody of mark stewart of pop group’s minerstrikesploitation classic “as the veneer of democracy starts to fade” but it turned out the guy who produced that one just went on to collaborate with the sugarhill gang??

I found the Bryce Tiles singer, after a lot of searching! Her name is Marnée Richardson and her website is http://marneerichardson.com/, I’m going to update the game credits with her full name as she’s given me permission to. I knew her as just Marnée, and she took down her commission page I used before so it took a little while to track her down. The track was completed in June 2021 but I didn’t upload it until January (I think) 2023, still a little predating dumb A.I. “singers” and A.I. “songwriters” but at least this completely proves/confirms it now!

the morning comes to a stuttering halt the cool breeze that blows is somebody’s fault the summer heat tries to burn thru and i look over to warn you but something’s happening

the morning glories climb the wall and you speak in a slow drawl i’m trying to piece together what you’re saying but the birds are screeching and the hounds are baying i don’t remember there being any hounds 'round here

we lean back and we clink our glasses raise the drinks to our thirsty mouths and thick as molasses ice-cold vodka eases in as the low-pressure system brings the breezes in and they sashay and pirouette above you, the only thing i know is that i love you and i’m holding onnnnnnnnn
