Fears. We all have em. We all love em. We are greatly terrified of them.

These insidious little brainbugs are the source of our most paralyzing nightmares and our most outlandish fetishes. Like the barrier between worlds on All Hallows Eve, the line between infatuation and horror is paper-thin.

In this thread, we will face them. We will consider them. We will allow them to wash over us like ichorous hellslime.

Now @blithen I originally saw this as the concept of crying so long and so hard that an ocean of your tears forms and you drown within it, you drown in your sorrows, truly and completely.

If that is not what is happening here I’m deeply afeared to learn the truth.

I am in my cabin, in my bed, in the comfort of my bed. I am ready to sleep for at least 6 to 9 hours. Some unknown amount of time passes. I awaken in space, my crew is gone, my ship is gone.

the bad news is this has definitely happened to me. the good news is it doesn’t work like that and isn’t an emergency. which is also bad news, because it means you can ignore it for too long like me. which is also good news, because it means you aren’t absolutely forced by searing pain and/or a traumatizing mess in your mouth to spend the kind of money it requires to fix this problem. but at bottom it is very bad news because it is very expensive

i have also had actual emergency root canals, but that only happens when a tooth gets infected. it hurts like fucking hell

I still think it’s fucking hilarious that I don’t have teeth falling out dreams now that they’ve fallen out. I don’t even have denture falling out dreams, that anxiety is just completely lifted from my subconscious in a way things usually aren’t

i had infrequent teeth falling out dreams until the one where i just snapped the teeth right back in, i think that working in the dream satisfied my unconscious

i don’t typically have dreams about teeth, this is a waking concern during my daily tongue-administered mouth inspections

i’ve removed 100% of the removable appliances placed in my mouth this way, including a permanent retainer, so i do fear doing that to a crown
