At buttcon last year a few people (I think @meauxdal and @isfet ) were curious how I had made my NA style English Front Mission Gun Hazard cart. So here’s how I did it.
Get you the game you want to transform and a donor case.
Clean the new case with isopropyl alcohol
Remove the label (a heat gun helps)
Finish with my ISO
Acquire or print a new label
Open the J cart with a game bit
No save on this title but this is the moment you want to put a new battery if it does.

Sucky sucky (this is called a desoldering iron)
Clean!

Get your snes maskrom to 29F033C converter
Slap the rom into your rom reader

Hit read and we can see here in the buffer is the rom. The starting ASCII helpfully says “Tetris”
Assemble your new chip from the board and chip you bought (29F033C TSOP 40 here)
Save the contents of the buffer
Open what you saved in Advanced SNES ROM Utility
Apply the patch that you got from the Internet.
Slap your new chip in your adapter.
Open the patched rom with the programmer app so that it’s in the buffer
Write the buffer to the chip

Solder the new chip back onto the board you started with
Screw it back together. I like to put the original chip back in the case.
Test it.

So what I have achieved here is I only ever downloaded the translation, and I used all the components that made up the original game (although I swapped it into a U case). Theseus would approve.

When I first saw that the translated title was “Tetris Battle Spin Off” I groaned because I thought it was overly literal.
Then I realized that you spin in Tetris and decided it’s genius.
