absolutely love how much he got into this role
to be fair, any scene that features hardbody requires dehydration for maximum defintion BUT STILL hearing about this witcher larp is wonderful
does he stop using pronouns and ACTUALLY talk like gerald from the game? cuz in the trailer he didnāt, but everyoneās saying what a great job hes doing with his impression

I didnāt note it while watching the show, but I think he mostly speaks in full sentences.
I think Cavill manages a similar throaty gruffness to gamesoft Geralt, but Cavill still sounds British to my ears. I also think he plays a more intense Geralt than Witcher 3 Geralt.

Woulda been cool if theyād have released a DLC for Witcher 3, with a Henry Cavill skin. If not some other characters, as well.
*modders probably already on top of that, though.
Because the magic using characters barely age (because magic) you can be watching a flashback scene that takes place decades prior and not realize it until you see a character show up that you saw die in a previous episode. So thereās a little bit of that Westworld stuff going on with the flashbacks.
Iāve watched four episodes now and I like the show. Itās got really good sword fights.

I finished the season, and Iām looking forward to more. I think the first couple of episodes are the weakest.

Yeah I just watched the fifth one now and each oneās been better than the one before it.
oh wow this show comes on trashy at first, itās great
period were talking about it like āoh great another streaming service trying to get that game of thrones moneyā but itās more like xena

I have now seen both this and Mandalorian analogized to Xena and I canāt help but wonder if after the swampy morass of prestige Oscarbait bullshit we are finally in the promised golden age of TV

whatās strange to me about it is that we now have all these expensive filler serials that are still treated as a catch-up-on-every-episode-when-it-airs type deal with their own canons that change from episode to episode, which was never really the case on cable before modern prestige TV
anyway henry cavillās line readings are hilarious and heās having so much fun in this but most of the scenes without him are like (to borrow someone elseās phrase) walmart brand game of thrones, though I understand they get a lot of that out of the way at the start

like the sword moves appear to be adapted from the character models which has to be a first
the sex scenes are like ā¦ these directors are either from softcore or europe or both
cavill brought in the stunt guy from mission impossible fallout to redo all the stunts and sword stuff to his specifications

I havenāt watched the show because my sister is the super witcher nerd whose read all the books and loves cavill and man of steel and they watched like half of twin peaks s3 and quit and that annoys me so Iām going to not watch the witcher to really show them.
