I would play with a controller, but it’s still disappointing to hear that there’s one true dominant tactic throughout the entire game. Looks like Supergiant continue to nail the presentation but don’t quite reach a pass in the gameplay.
later transistor battles are much improved when you turn on as many limiters as you have because they bring the variety back into combat (They at least provide a user controlled difficulty increase that the game itself lacks otherwise)
You can even make a build with all limiters on that stunlocks all enemies in sight so you never actually need to use the tactics screen.
It’s cool that they give you the option not to use limiters and completely change your moveset at every save point, but I don’t know why you would play the game any other way? It’s so much fun!
I’ve thought about using them but I typically don’t mess with difficulty modifiers on my first playthrough because I have an aversion to wasting time if I bump into a difficulty wall.
If the battles don’t get any more difficult I may just try them anyway
