It was an odd sort of game that had a unique twist to the rolling ball down a course genre.
Iām a sucker for games with very very complete and interesting internal logic, which is why two of my favourite genres are SRPGs and physics/ball-rolling games
I donāt have any predictions but I think this year Iām most looking forward to Red Dead 2 and Insomniacās Spider-man. Horizon: Zero Dawn comes out soon so Iāll probably check that out and at some point supposedly God of W4r will show up. Iām interested in seeing how those two fair in general but mainly Red Dead and Spider-man are whatās hyping me up this year.
speaking of insomniac have sucker punch revealed what theyāve been doing for the past three years yet
Murray the Hippo with Batman ⢠combat.
I havenāt heard what Sucker Punch are up to I just hope itās not another Infamous game.
I wouldnāt hold my breath for that one; last I saw it was very Sucker Punch. Restrained take on aesthetic thatās now slightly out of date, without hitting strong empowerment or challenge fantasies, with some texture but not that much. Theyāre still they.
I would actually put money on them trying to ride this extremely brief and ill-advised era of nostalgia for mascot platformers into a remake of ROCKET: ROBOT ON WHEELS
To paraphrase Diego Luna, the texture of Murray is something I need to discover.
Also Crackdown 3 comes out this year, maybe, so who knows maybe thatāll be neat. Also I like all the videos Iāve seen of Sea of Thieves (Rareās pirate MMO thing) but I canāt really see myself actually playing it.
New Styx game this year too.
I knew I was forgetting something.
noooo
i mean im glad i held off on buying an xbone but still. nooooo
Thought Scalebound was looking sorta bad so⦠meh?
I thought that Scalebound looked bad when it was announced but the latest video changed my opinion. Sad that itās canceled now.
I hope they at least reuse the headphones gimmick for a character in another game.
For reference: the main character wears headphones around his neck, and puts them on before a climactic fight, making the staple Platinum buttrock⢠diegetic to the action!
Iām hoping Agents of Mayhem follows in the footsteps of Saints Row and is inexplicably good.
CRYPT UNDERWORLD
Speaking of how much butt rock rules, how bout that competitive shooter game with the high-speed flying mechs in & around big superstructures. That one looks cool.
wasnāt that hawken?
man i can actually run that thing now
Could be, but thatās been out for a while. That describes at least 3 games I have a vague knowledge about, but canāt remember the names of!
Nah, Hawken is ground based. I vaguely recall the game in question, in part because the butt rock was mentioned at the preview video as well, but also do not remember the name.
