videogame things you think about a lot (Part 1)

They were made to be pondered.

All life begins with Nu and ends with Nu.

When Parasite Eve came out, I told my friends about a rare, random appearance of an RE2 Licker in the Police Station during Day 3 and of course it was goofy made up hype bs.

Didn’t take long for them to call me on that, but I experienced a truly weird happening in Chrono Trigger (also shared yet never could replicate!) when I was suddenly able to save on one of the stairwells in Zeal (kinda near that Nu above). Like, on the spot in a completely awkward place nowhere near the sparkles of a Save Point. Don’t know if there’s ever been other reported/similar cases, I just vividly remember running up and down the stairs testing it like “wttttffff”

Shadow Zero from the Seiken/Mana games were always a bestiary curioso.

If people don’t realize how huge an otaku he is from mekton, cyberpunk 2020, and teenagers from outer space, I’ve got no clue what they thought those games were.

And I think it was his one of his strengths in the '80s. While everyone else was riffing on Tolkein, and Stars Trek & Wars, he was getting to the just-on-the-cusp import culture.

I think we can all agree here that the Super FX chip was entirely dedicated to making a spacebird sound like Sam Elliott.

This is from an ancient sfx library and if you start listening for it you will hear it in literally every goddamn tv show and movie when the cops roll up, sometimes repeatedly within the same scene.
