ahahaha fuck yes

i think about lots of bits from those games. like Twinsen’s loud EAAUGH pain scream and that he takes damage when you run into walls in the first game, so periodically you’d be trying to outrun some enemy fire or trap and just fucking clonk your head. Amazing immersive gameplay just like real life

I have these quotes I cant confirm are(nt) real

from some final fantasy you are doing something involving a chocobo and you are told that “success will make a pak sound”.

Metal gear solid guard says “its only a box”

Why do you play a canonical 4’10" special forces soldier in this game

Even though Full Throttle is my favorite adventure game every time I play a game I’m either asking myself “why isn’t this more like Myst” or “why isn’t this more like The Neverhood”

that type of RPer in MUDs and long-term TTRPG sessions who RPs with the equivalent of a mid-atlantic accent - everything must Be Reasonable, My Good Fellow - super smug and confident and goes on and on and on with purple prose without ever advancing the story or interacting with other players in a significant way

Ah yes, somewhere between Fedora Man and Musical Theater Alpha

For me it’s “What was that noise?” with the slight emphasis as if any other noise is fine but that one, that noise right there is just suspicious man.

i just love the syrupy flange effects on everything. most of the differences in the Requiem re-release i can live with but i really miss Alucard’s death scream

from the Q&A at the end (41:26):

Q: If you were to iterate on Marble Madness today and take it to the next level, what would you do?

Mark Cerny: I’ve joked, I wanna do a sort of philosophical quest where the marble goes out into the real world and has conversations with people about things like “why is there evil in the universe?” I’m really not kidding — I did the design for this a couple years back. It will never happen.

wait, didn’t Knack 2 ship or did I just hallucinate that

in a mad world, perhaps only the marble with madness is truly sane…

is that why marble madness 2 is/was gonna be called MARBLE MAN

Marble Madness is beautiful, if I owned a wall with enough vertical space on it I would have a bigass mural of the entire game painted on it
