So, everybody knows the SFEX2+ soundtrack, but I actually never listened to vanilla EX2 until now. And I like it! It’s so noisy & aggressive

Had something remind me of Kero Blaster today and whenever that happens this is the first song that creeps back into my head. Wandering around the flat bobbing my head along to it endlessly :notes:

this OST is a vibe that’s rare to find, even when ymmv you have to admit that there aren’t too many games that manage to capture a similar feeling like it did.

Yes, even CT didn’t manage to do that!

(edit: found one of the more haunting tracks which grew on me over the years

it’s just :zeldaheart: )

there are actually 3 different versions of the street fighter ex and ex2 soundtracks, maybe even more lol… essentially there’s an arcade version, a ps1 version, and an arrange version. so they’re all pretty good from what i’ve listened to, sometimes the best version of a song is from the compressed lofi soundfont arcade original, and sometimes it’s the arrange versions that have like an actual drummer, with the ps1 versions kind of a middle ground between them

one of the best parts of the internet is having access to databases so you can just go look up who is playing like jazz fusion drums on this random arrange soundtrack on vgmdb. they’re great soundtracks they’re a little YMO (think it’s worth noting that the arika / ridge racer sound team that wrote these soundtracks have also recorded like 10 albums worth of parodies of YMO and sakamoto ryuichi / hosono haruomi / takahashi yukihiro material) a little casiopea…
