The Penguin so far is just a series of “how is Penguin gonna weasel his way out of this one” followed by “ah, that’s how,” but it’s pretty entertaining.

i do think it is kind of a perfect synecdoche for where we are re:batman adaptations, like tim burton’s penguin involved an elaborate makeup and costume design to make danny devito look like a german expressionist goblin, and matt reeves’s penguin involves an elaborate makeup and costume design to make colin farrell look like a different totally normal man

just finished season 3 of justified. love to see my two favorite psychos from ravenous (did you know Jeremy Davies teaches kids to sculpt famous American natives into their mashed potatoes, like mount Rushmore but with potatoes? I love him) have SO MUCH SCREEN TIME. also all the true blood production and side actors rules too. the first episode takes place in the same liquor store as the first episode of true blood!!! its got the gay TV watching vampire from the first season as a judge!
Walton goggins and timothy oliphants gay little dynamic rocks too! I never heard of this show! the only annoying thing is how it’s sometimes a harem anime for olyphant but he’s the producer I’d do the same thing
what else is niel McDonough COMPLETELY PSYCHO in. he’s too normal in band of brothers and dies too fast in ravenous but seeing his character be like HEY YOU SEEN PLATOON then literally shotgun a freebase hit like the movie to a prostitute is the energy I need from him in my life always. also the gay torture? oh also there was an episode where a bunch of characters had the same name as way of the gun characters and yeah, this show definitely takes place in the same world as way of the gun
I hope mykelti williamson stays in through season 4. wish I watched this show when it was on the air but I don’t thjnk I even had the channel it was on

it always cracks me up that after a certain point he kills enough people who pull guns on him that his shooting people becomes a complete background issue because the violence in harlan is totally out of control and his bosses have seen this first hand. it can’t be helped!
