I watched the first two episodes of The Curse before traveling for the holidays and thought they were pretty good, but I’m now finding it very difficult to go back to it. It’s so intensely uncomfortable! I used to eat this kind of thing for breakfast, so either I’m getting old or my job is so stressful right now that I can’t take the stress in my entertainment. Shit, maybe this is why there are so many disney adults in medical professions!

the best way to experience eva

i saw end of evangelion back in the vhs times, but didn’t see more than a couple of random episodes of the show until it was on netflix a couple of years ago

what does it mean

all of the reviews from the finale premiere talk about it being somehow polarizing even to the audience that made it through ten hours

in retrospect i think fielder and safdie are making their a serious man

My feeling is that this is going to come into it in some sense if only because almost all of the surveilled shots r plausibly situated in a person’s pov. I mean it could still just be a vaguely surveillance-esque style thats loose w/ the 4th wall to reflect paranoia etc. but I agree w/ you that the episode 9 bit is important. Since that character is a former crew member w/ a grudge against Whitney & seemingly the one on cam doing the chicken bit in the fire station it makes me feel more confident about that.

That & the Española connections 2 Kundali Yoga/cultish elements thereof stuff that seems to come up regularly but has yet 2 emerge into narrative r two elements im curious to see if/how they r addressed in finale. The show is so heavily reminiscent of found footage horror to me tho i may be paranoid reading a bit too far.

Death’s Game is a pretty great mash up of a Christmas Carole-esque morality play and Quantum Leap. They have a lot of fun aping every big K-drama genre.

thanks for the rec, would have passed this for its overly bland description text. :servbotsalute:

do we have any curse theories… mine is pretty speculative i think its possible that the show was designed (by nathan fielder, benny safdie, etc.) as a big roleplaying game and that they’ve been shooting it with hidden cameras (as in the cameras of “the curse” and not “fliplanthropy” which exists within “the curse” are hidden from the cast of “the curse”)

im gonna stay up and watch the finale as soon as i can on friday midnight im sooo excited but yes its been entertaining to speculate

Taylor Sheridan looks like a guy Agent 47 would get paid to canoe and his latest show “special ops lioness” is about a hard working waitress gal who gets pummeled by her bf constantly until she is saved by a marine at a fucking recruitment station lmfao and knows what she must do. They keep telling her no woman has done this because she can do 21 pull ups and they put her in the cia spook lioness program where increasingly odd homo shit keeps happening, like zoe saldana forcing her to strip in the barracks to admire her cigarette burns or the part where she sets up some SF guys to kidnap her in the second episode, creatively titled The Beating, and you get to watch like 15 mins of a half naked lady just gettin fuckin tuned up by her own guys, theyre like waterboarding her and busting her fuckin nose even though zoe saldana recruited her to be like pose as a deep cover arab socialite daughter of privilege, great plan, very convincing if she’s literally spittin fuckin teeth into her shower after the beating you gave her lmfao. Special ops lioness gets mad that someone stops this “training exercise”, as the battered gal clearly needs training getting beaten to a pulp by men, because she doesn’t know her true breaking point now lmfao

I watched Lynch and Frost’s On the Air sourced from this vimeo channel that has episodes sourced from a Japanese laser disk: Absallaxiom

It’s a great 7/10 show. I mean, the bizarre formula that they land on and the particular off-beat beats they choose to repeat are charming: interpretive dance intro, the Hurry-up Twins, and my personal favorite, Blinky’s Bozeman’s Symplex. I’m curious if anyone else has watched it.

I’ve seen it. I think the first episode is amusing and worth watching, not so much after that. feel like they covered it all there

I just watched this show last month! I downloaded the japanese dvds ages ago and only recently got around to ripping them. The dvds are just laserdisc transfers so there’s no gain in quality.

I kept thinking how much the show felt like a rumiko takahashi thing. Every episode crescendoes into unwieldy chaos

I thought that was going to be the case, but I got something out of the repetition. I also think the episode with the puppet was the best and that’s episode 5 ( Directed by Lesli Linka Glatter, who, I mean, what a career)

Please tell me this is also on amazon prime, I need all these shows to be housed in the same nominal space for existential reasons

Unfortunately it’s on paramount plus I think? Which is great because I was briefly concerned they’re showing real sicko shit on TV these days, on amazon prime you’ll have to settle for Reacher and The Terminal List, or as I know it the show where Chris Pratt blows up an FBI HRT team with an IED that plays a leeroy jenkins ringtone before it goes off and my boy Taylor Kitsch puts in work with the pump action

also Taylor Sheridan is absolutely a disgusting freak who needs to be shot in the fucking head based on how many extremely grueling and violent scenes of women being sexually assaulted/nearly sexually assaulted are in his shit, they should put his collected works in a fuckin landfill where they belong. I can’t even fuckin get over the fact that this special ops lioness show is clearly building to the marine getting tactically fingerblasted by a terrorist’s daughter
