I imagine this is gonna be shorter than my PS3 era which I will return to. Plenty of these games I previously bought I gave 90 minutes to and went “thanksgoodbye.”
The following is all games I am thinking about playing or replaying:
Tempted to return to my Lost Odyssey save. I think that is a terrible game and you can search for my posts explaining why. My absolute breaking point was trying an un-explained mini-game that just turned out to be the normal battle system, which wasn’t that interesting to begin with.
Now Blue Dragon. That’s a game to play for 50 hours when you have deep depression. Ask anyone who has played it. And now I have stupid new brain with Depression so maybe, sign me up. You know I stopped playing that because I couldn’t stand the main character never put on pants or a jacket in the snow area. Give me a different character model Toriyama!
I’m also gonna play like 3 stages of Gears of War. I years later remain shocked no one prepared me for that game being a janky piece of shit. I think it has good points about meat ogres shooting each other and throwing grenades into above ground swimming pool sized Emergence Holes. I’m not sure any time I’ve played it could be called “having fun.”
Mushihimesama Futari OWNS.
Instant Brain is a visual novel by CAVE about what if your sick gaming rig was also an underage sex slave. Buried deep in it is a secret Cave shooter like 30 people on Earth have ever played. Yes this is from 2008-2012, one of the darkest times ever in the history of otaku culture. Or maybe it still is I’ve easily been checked out for the last 8 years. If I was ever checked in. I have a demo for it.
I am limited because you can’t just steal 360 games to play on real hardware and 360 region-locking is a complete crapshoot and my above post said I have an American 360. I’ve bought at least 5 games in the past that did not work. If someone wants a Chinese version of Def Jam for 360 I’ll throw it in the garbage and say I mailed it to you.
I remain weirdly curious about Prey and The Orange Box for reasons that escape being reasonable. Prey (J) is supposedly region free! DoA et all are region locked. Those games at least have a lot of graphics. Also I am a family man, maybe just fucking don’t Rudie.
Ninja Blade works great in Xenia and Bullet Witch is right there and those are two great games that I enjoy but I don’t want to have a good time I want to have a frustrating time that leaves me unsatisfied.
Prey was a weird one. spent a lot of time in the development oven and what came out is a weird i guess interpretation of Quake 4? the opening scene included a very interactive bathroom and the best use of “Don’t fear the reaper”
I seem to recall one of the reasons to play The Orange Box is that it contains a totally preserved launch version of TF2. Though I can’t imagine anyone is playing that, if it’s even still possible.

having played a good bit of the game in question lately, i feel the need to object on this point- GeoW, for all that it may be a piece of shit on some (many?) counts, is not janky.
I’m about a third of the way through and it is running much better this time. I remember falling through the floor, frame rate dropping. Other people would complain about textures not loading but that is such a common…thing that seems petty to even mention it. I think it also hard-locked once or twice and enemies T-posed.
So far the biggest issue this time is my teammates running into the middle of the football field and getting killed. I’m playing on casual which doesn’t seem to lower the difficulty so much as I don’t die as fast.

worst i can remember along those lines is some mild texture pop-in- and, on one occasion, a piece of wreckage spinning in mid-air. i can only assume i got lucky with the disc, install, and/or machine

it gets better (somewhat) after your guy gets a promotion and the ability to give your mates simple “Shoot” / “Shoon’t” commands
Edit: went back earlier this evening to see if i could beat the final boss without the shotgun. dozens of humiliating deaths later, it turns out i can- but only if they decide to stay put on their side of arena while i throw everything and the kitchen sink in their general direction
Turns out the demo is exceptionally long. I played for two hours and didn’t finish. Also surprise it’s a Phoenix Wright like and I still haven’t gotten to the case. I think I was supposed to be so enamored I have a android sex maid that I just keep playing. She constantly reminds me how much of a fuck up I am. We were found together in a dumpster. I am a real human with amnesia because yes this story was written by hacks. I also have an unexplained gun that takes polaroid pictures of the past and also anime girls in clothed but evocative states. The first one was the maid passed out but evocative. Also I guess she isn’t a sex slave explicitly she’s just dressed in barely anything at all times and cooks all my food does all my laundry and is at my forever beck and call. Everyone remarks on how beautiful her skin is.
I’m guessing the demo is going to be the entire first case which deals with a Top Idol going missing and we’re the prime suspects. Will my polaroids of the past clear my name? Probably. It takes absolutely as long as possible for anything to happen.
To clear my mistake the game has a copy of DoDonPachi that you can play with Kinect and a demo version of NinNinJump buried in it. Probably not in the demo. I’ll never find out why I have amnesia, a gun, and a maid.
Hey Jed let me know if I am yucking up your thread.
I think my natural Gaming State is playing a bunch of garbage for unknown reasons.
I managed to Blockbuster DoA4 but it ran like garbage and I don’t think that was my fault. I did find I had the demo on my 360 and it is a generous demo with 3 of the daughters available. I beat my head against it for about 30 minutes. I’m not good ar fighters. I decided the stages are not as cool as in DoA3. So I’ll keep playing 3 in Blockbuster format.
I moved on to Ninety Nine Nights Demo in which The Orb was split in two between the humans and goblins. It honestly felt like DoA still because the cutscenes don’t make any sense. I guess one of the characters is an amish priest? Anyways this feels extremely early 360. It is gray and a PS2 game but more. I frankly felt sick that by the time I had died I had killed 2000 people. Dynasty Warriors just isn’t for me.
Act 4 of Gears is missing a lot of connective tissue and you can feel the time and money ran out. “Wow feels like the ending is coming up-no you are half-way through because whatever.” Still after the consistent C- I’ve been indulging in I can recognize Gears is A Video Game. It has a minecart level and that counts. It does a lot to make the squad feel like real people. For Gears Football-USA-Greco-Meatmen does have more heart than say Killzone 2 or something else I played recently. Absolutely did not need a sequel or 6. @hater got me scared for the ending because I do remember the last boss sucking a lot. Of course I could just quit and move on.
in regard to your concerns about the final boss, you must remember that it’s me we’re talking about- i don’t doubt that you’d have no problem whatever with it
