you ever think of the visionary work of art gtaiv and how now in 2025 you can’t throw a rock on the internet without hitting eight different brucies
maybe that’s why

Rockstar North staffers speaking up and pushing back.
This is one of the realest things anyone has ever said

There was this YouTube that covered the topic of the driving well, I thought.
i cannot begin to describe how much more grating this accent / tone of voice has become now that i live in western canada, like i feel it so strongly that i am afraid it is starting to transform into a kind of bigotry that i really should not have & feel somewhat shameful about
Albertan freemasonry is ensuring your children sound like this
Will you play/buy GTA6?
- Yes
- No, I have no interest and never planned to
- No, fuck Rockstar, power to the unions
I had no interest but wanted to pretend I’m more righteous than I really am
I won’t buy it but I’ll probably play it because I play any old trash that’s lying around.
if it were pretty much any other game I would think it’s kind of funny having this conversation before so much as a single explicit feature or mechanic has been articulated (rather than speculated). how close to release was 5 when they showed off heists? feels like it must have been close.
is anyone’s answer waiting on that sort of thing or are minds more or less made up
About 4 months out.
Speaking personally I feel much more of a sort of professional obligation to play it at some point rather than a burning desire and the unionbusting stuff is scum behaviour. Once I finished with GTA5 I didn’t really leave with any fond memories. GTA3 and San Andreas have a lot more memory capital but I can’t imagine enjoying either much beyond an hour if I played them today.
I guess seeing different body types rendered in a game of this scale interests me but Florida is not that compelling to me.
yeah the anticipation is totally a nonfactor to me, but will I play it some ways after it gets ported to PC? maybe on sale? sure
As a former Floridian, I just want to see the world’s most expensive Florida simulator. Also, the only GTA games I’ve ever played were the GTA2 demo illicitly installed on classroom computers and Chinatown Wars. So I’m kind of morbidly curious about the 3D ones.
I actively hated 5, but RDR2 was good, so like. I’ll pirate it in 5 years.
I’ve never liked or made it more than a few hours into a GTA, the whole phenomenon consistently mystified me from 3 → 4 → 5. but I like both RDRs for the most part. it would not be a sacrifice for me to ignore the game completely; I also think it would be pointless to pretend I would achieve anything by doing so.
did you read dan houser’s comic where the main guy is a corporate sellout whose only joy in life comes from cowboy cosplay and his wife has been driven insane by online to be racist and his daughter has been driven insane by online to think racism is bad, why can’t people just apolitically get along anymore etc. an ignoble end to a guy whose videogame writing I think is unappreciated for making characters that sound like what actual people sound like
