As a more painterly realm previous to Hollow Knight, Rain World’s drear with some strong platforming throughout, it’s fine-good. Story isn’t as minimal as the latter, possibly touching in that Ghibli-Pixar way. Not a huge time sink and def not a mediocre game, at least with that standout area art, level design (especially the escape sequences).
Between them, not so much a likening to each other.
*a Ghibli-Pixar way?
Ori’s pretty light on narrative from what I recall. Just shorthand for: focus on distinct animation quality, storybook/family levity counter weighted with some life’s hard nature.
I wish I wasn’t so lazy as I’d go to the 2019 version of this topic and just C&P my list from in there as I don’t know that any of them actually came out.
…All I remember is Disaster Report 4.
…I’m still not sure I believe it will ever come out over here.
I will believe BG&E2 when I see it. Not just because its been in development hell for soooo loooong. But also, the last time I saw it, it looked 2 - 3 years away. Like they were still just establishing the framework of how the technology works to enable the vision off the game world.
No chance it will actually come out next year but been curious for so long what kind of tone Atlus’ new upcoming seemingly big budget classic fantasy game will have or even look like.
Also same for SMT5 if it’s not cancelled yet.
Is Bluepoint Games teasing a new remake or their first original game? If the latter then excited to see what they can do.
Will SEGA find a successful way to market Sakura Wars in the west?
That mysterious Capcom franchise revival project (it’s Battle Circuit??)
