nooooo the 3090 is 3 slots again they’re gonna have to make totally new ITX cases
I love that the 3070 is still not straight-up better than a 1080 Ti (less VRAM).
put a waterblock on it and slim it down, baybee
A used $450 1080 Ti will no longer embarrass the new offerings once the 3070 is out, but I am not seeing a better option than a $200 1070 any time soon.
no that’s ugly
this will fit 3-slots as well:
the creator’s working on a vertical case for better radiator support that I think I’m going to wait for:
I love mITX and currently use an NCase M1 sitting on my desk next to my monitor, but I had to do a full custom loop because the sound of the GPU fans drove me nuts.
Even for the TinyPC hobbyists out there I’m still not totally sold on the use of the sub-10L sandwich cases built with large GPU’s in mind. I love how they look as much as the next guy but I couldn’t imagine having a 2-slot or 3-slot GPU spooling up and down on my desk next to my Keyboard blasting heat onto my hands and face, I feel like it would drive me insane.
Do people still do LAN parties? The NCase is definitely too big and heavy to just toss in a backpack, though its easy enough to take between my desk and TV.
I’ve been flying a Node 202 (looks like a big Xbox One X) to the past few SBCons and home for Christmas and it’s been totally worthwhile. But I’ve been having similar fan noise problems – specifically with the GPU fans when they’re just right up against the vent, so I’m going to experiment next time.
what’s the deal with the new vid cards
anything looking like a sensible buy yet
the sensible buy is to neg 2080ti owners into upgrading and buy their now-outclassed cards at a steep discount
the redundancy of typing romaji is enough of an annoyance to me that i’ve considered getting a bamboo skewer and some white-out our nail polish and writing the hiragana on my laptop keyboard. i’m sure nothing could go wrong
Whoa, does your wife use the hiragana inputs on the keyboard?
I’ve never seen someone actually use them (and an impromptu survey of a couple of my coworkers and my wife confirmed they’ve never used them before, they all just type the romaji).
I can’t really vouch for the quality having merely been dazzled by their wonderful logo on a store in Osaka but as far as budget picks in Japan, Mouse seem to have options? https://www.mouse-jp.co.jp/m-book/c1/#c1e
a lot of the symbol keys are in a different location and the shortcut to switch between different systems is a button on J-keyboards.
you of all people should know that a sensible buy is a used VEGA64 card for -
are you laughing already at the mention of used VEGA64 card, i dare you by go-

j/k aside for a moment, like what the hell:
i expected my V64 to be a dead fish in the water by now, but the prices seem to have gone from lows to bizarre highs in the last year, i.e. from 300ish to 1k(!) back to more modest 500ish for a used one.
I can only imagine it being due to cryptomaniacs, but it’s good to know there are still a few new ones out there… . here’s your chance, aye.
you laugh but Microcenter got new old stock of V64s and I thought about it
Just saw a classified ad for a $450 2080 Ti hell yeah
that ad 100% ends with stab wounds and 450 bucks gone
there hasn’t been very much knife crime when buying computer parts since the heyday of the bbc micro
