Are 4K monitors more useful than 2 1080p monitors? I feel like the answer is no, but I gotta ask
Text looks a lot nicer, and there are technically 2x the pixels in a 4k monitor than 2 1080p ones so if you want without scaling I guess you could fit more windows. Though I find the spatial separation of two separate monitors helps me in ways beyond just more screen area

a few years ago I’d have said the 2 1080p displays no question, but text rendering on 4K monitors has gotten a lot better, and I’m assuming a 4K would be more like 125-150% the screen area of a 1080p monitor in practice rather than being fully 2x due to pixel density
so I think you could go either way tbh, maybe get the 4K and use a beater second screen

Yeah I currently have a 4k main monitor and a 15 year old 1080p in portrait orientation as a secondary and it works great

you realize a 4k monitor has the space of 4 1080p displays, right
you get one big enough and you could probably organize stuff my quadrant fairly easily
I remember a cheap Seiki 4k TV was popular among programmers because even though it only did 4k30, it was big enough to functionally be 4 24 in monitors in one
oh yeah I was comparing to 1440p in my head
getting a 4k monitor would likely result in that in practice, assuming a desk setup
getting a 4k TV would get you the size to do dumb shit because text would be big enough at 100% scaling
any noctua heads got advice on getting the darned spring screws on their coolers in?? couldn’t get either side to thread and then i got a phone call and had to pack it up for the night
was proving enough of an ordeal i contemplated just using the stock amd thing

if it’s a tower, you should have gotten a screwdriver with the package, looking like this…
and you should have some holes in the top of the tower/cooler where to place it,
and voila,
that should do the trick?

obv need to check whether they are the correct ones for the socket, newer ones do have marks for intel/amd on them iirc(?)…

yeah i just think it requires a decent chunk of force to get those side screws to bite
and noctua seem to recommend using a better driver than the included one for the particular cooler I got

i need a new phone. My OG Pixel has been acting up for at least a year, and I’m looking to get off. I need to check twitter, email, SB, and take nice pictures/video for all of the digital flirting. i’m looking at Pixel4a and iPhoneSE and the Verizon dude who doesn’t have P4as said to also look at SamsungA51s and honestly I’m already exhausted. Please SB make this easier for me. THanks
I’m in roughly the same spot (I’ve got a Pixel XL) as you and I think I’ve settled on a Pixel 4a even if I’m bizarrely attracted to the Surface Duo. But the 4a is just a much more sensible choice
I ended up at Best Buy preordering a P4a bc the Verizon guy had no idea what a P4a even was, so
