The 3DS eshop is closing in a week. A lot of things are on sale for very cheap! I finally re-bought Super Mario 3D Land after it was stolen with the first 3DS I owned. Also glad I got all those 3D Classics. Maybe one day I’ll hack this thing and it won’t matter anymore, but today is not that day.
Anything you’ve been meaning to get, but haven’t yet? Better start! And Talk about it Here! Yeah!
Guild01 Games: Attack of the Friday Monsters and Crimson Shroud in particular
Protect Me Knight
Pokemon Picross
Phoenix Wright Trilogy
Apollo Justice
Absolutely not Ace Attorney 5 and 6
Professor Layton vs PW
Etrian Odyssey Something
The opening theme to Persona Q and playing something else
Zeldo Ocarino of Tim
Zeldo Majoro Mollusk
Zeldo Lunk Between Walls
Wrecking Crew 3D
Actually wanted to ask what is the proper Monster Hunter to buy for 3 dollars.
Here’s the DSi games I bought with almost no thought or reason:
X-Scape
Metal Torrent
Anonymous Notes 3 (not to be confused with Anonymous;Notes)
Zombie Skape
Soul of Darkness
Mr Driller Drill till you Drop
American store has a lot of Rail Sim games on sale.
I’m really annoyed Atlus hasn’t dropped the price of their 3DS games at all. Would love to put the Devil Survivor and Strange Journey editions on there, and you’d think they wouldn’t mind getting $8 out of me in the process.
Didn’t realize there was a DSi Mr. Driller. Looks like it was delisted in 2019? What the fuck.
If anyone doesn’t have it, Sakura Samurai is one of the 3DS download exclusives I most enjoyed, though I haven’t played it in a decade. $7. Attack of the Friday Monsters too.
I really liked Fairune and that’s on sale. Gonna buy its sequel too. I enjoyed Witch & Hero a weird amount for what it is, but don’t know if I’d recommend it (I might pick up the two sequels before the world ends though).
Now seems like a good time to check out those Ace Attorney games I guess
I have a 3DS I bought in 2011 and a 2DS I bought a couple years ago when Nintendo was closing some out. I haven’t done anything with the 2DS yet. The 3DS is showing its age a bit but is technically working fine. Trying to figure out which system I want to be my main system I play store stuff on and which one I want to hack, probably.
is Culdcept Revolt cool? I’m interested in that one. Some other suggestions from me would be maybe checking out those Project X-Zone games and Chase: Cold Case Investigations which is a project from some former Cing devs If I recall correctly.
I was gonna ask if any of the post-Trilogy Phoenix Wright games are worth it now that they are only $3 a pop (more worried about wasting time than money), but it seems Rudie is a strong vote against them.
All the games i have/want/care about are (in no real order)
Attack of the friday monsters
Super hang-on (the 3d and gyro controls add so much)
(Also fantasy zone 2, outrun, space harrier, afterburner 2, but hang on is king imo)
Kokuga
Smt4
Soul hackers
Smt devil survivor 2 (1 isnt on the aus store )
Culdcept revolt
Etrian odyssey 4
Crimson shroud
Dillon’s dead-heat breakers
Link between worlds
Dq7
Omega ruby/alpha sapphire are the only good pokemons on here
Subara city
Japanese rail sims (okinawa monorail if u gotta pick only one)
A-train
Pocket card jockey
Pullblox / whatever its called in your region
Aero porter (is cool but v colourblind unfriendly, i can only play the first 20 mins and then i lose by default)
Liberation maiden (very left handed unfriendly but rudie says you can do it if you persist)
Reel fishing 3d paradise
Dsiware
Boxlife
Metal torrent
X-scape aka 3d space tank
Pinball pulse the ancients beckon
Game boy games:
Mole mania
Lufia
Trip world
River king 1 and 2
Harvest moon
Kirby’s dream land
Donkey kong 94
Wario land 3
Zeldas
Pokemons
Im also sorta curious about the ambitious weird kids jrpgs eg yokai watch, inazuma eleven, LBX, fossil fighters frontiers etc but not enough to play them. Level 5-core kinda sux idk
Apollo Justice is worse written than the trilogy but a fun mixup of the formula.
A plot point in six is their office gets reposessed because they signed a bad contract. 3 lawyers stand around going “what should we do?” I’d call a lawyer personally.
Runabout 3D: Drive Impossible / Crash City Mayhem is one of the last games made by Climax Entertainment (Landstalker, Dark Savior, Runabout series) and is immensely underrated
Streetpass has been among my most-played games most of the time I’ve had my 3DS, so I finally bought all the other Streetpass Plaza games I’d never gotten around to yet. Wondering how urgently I should prioritize playing Rusty’s Real Deal Baseball, since we lose the ability to add funds in April, don’t we?
Do we know if steetpass will be affected by the service closure at all? I took my 3ds with me into the city yesterday and didnt get a single person, which was disappointing
I don’t think it should be affected, but I should point out that I’ve taken my 3DS on multiple plane trips and meetups without any Streetpass connections for the last couple of years, buuut at no point did I deliberately test this with another 3DS owner. Maybe I can hit MAGFest next year for a better test? I’m sure it won’t be as high-intensity as the connections I got when I went seven or eight years ago, but there’s gotta be other people bringing their 3DS to such an event…
