castle shikigami iii is a shmup, i don’t recall any wiimote stuff
Check again, it’s on the list!
I am rather sure that Madworld makes use of the motion controls in a way that precludes the classic controller. Silent Hill Shattered Memories very much uses the wiimote as a flashlight and such so while there is a later port that makes the controls normal those aren’t in the original Wii version.
Thanks for the info! I guess I will have to play Shattered memories on the psp, if it’s still quite good on there
fragile dreams requires a huge amount of pointing the remote at the screen so i don’t reckon it supports the classic pad.
w regard to the motion control discussion: excite truck really proved to me that actually u can totally make a game that relies on motion controls and still make it fully sick. striaght up better than every mario kart before or since.
All the Excite games on Wii are fucking bad ass…including WiiWare Excitebike…you can’t go wrong with any of them if you ask me…
Just remembered this

people who made that musta be smokin some

(if ya know what I mean)
I have a copy of that… bought it at an op shop for $2. It was $2 too expensive.
Here is a (very old) video of my fav streamer duo playing it:

And the infamous commercial:
If you’re cool enough to enjoy the placid thrills of virtual fishing then Fishing Resort is a must.
Fishing Master is also excellent
I’ve looked up some footage and it seems enjoyable - I’ll definitely have to give it a play the next time I get the fishing itch.
I’m also surprised to see so few mentions of the best Wii racing game in this thread.
Excitebots takes the high speeds and open track design of Excite Truck and hones in on the cheap trick of frequent, endorphin fuelling prompts and pop-ups to bombard the player with star ratings, bizarre esoteric awards, and even directions to simple, WarioWare-style blink-and-you’ll-miss-it, micro challenges that you complete as you race. This is a game that unironically DOES involve some waggling, but in such short, spontaneous, shifting ways that it doesn’t overstay its welcome and only adds to the esoteric thrill of driving a transforming ladybug robot through scenic destinations.
Whatever happened to these guys?
Monster Games…was acquired by iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations in 2022.[1]
Oh. Huh. Hmm.
I am over at Blockbuster looking at Wii games and going huh there just isn’t a lot to play on my Wii U.
I started up RE4Wii and just…just hated it so bad immediately. I’m going to give it a real try, despite my better judgment. Folks say the Dead Space game is also good, which I am mildly curious about because Dead Space with Gamecube graphics probably looks pretty good. RE4 looks so good, even in that terrible smeared 480p.
Not sure if you’re back home and visiting that last one in Texas, if Japan somehow has a branch, or if this is some sort of state of mind
You can go to blockbuster whenever you want they have every video game and movie ever made.
What about the ones Del wants?
IIRC the Dead Space game is a 5-hour linear AAA singleplayer game where you can’t move and aim with the remote and sit through long unskippable Half-Life cutscenes in the middle of gameplay, rather than a 90s arcade game, and that quite pissed me off at the time
Yeah it is pretty cool. They masterfully Downgraded PS360 art to Wii level. Unforunately playing a wii lightgun game with 30 minute stages ruined my wrist. Had to give up wii-in’.
