I took another path in R-Type Final 2 and got another ending. 6.1 was tough and I almost wanted to quit for the night a couple times, but I’m glad I didn’t because I really liked 7.1. It reminds me of the aircraft carrier stage in Sin and Punishment.
I have just one more ending to go (that I know of). It’s the first version of 7 that I ever reached but I didn’t beat it at the time.
I unlocked the Albatross. I colored it red and put a flame decal on it.
Glad to hear Final 2 didn’t turn out shit! I’ve never gotten into the series - it’s not the kind of shoot em up I enjoy personally. Good that it’s back though
I was just thinking last night (again) about how happy I am that Granzella is reviving these Irem properties. Disaster Report 4 was my favorite game of 2020 and R-Type Final 2 might be my pick for 2021 (though of course it’s too early to say that).
Either way, the care they put into these games is something I really appreciate. There are things in both games (sometimes very small things) that I have avoided mentioning on SB because they are nice to come across as surprises.
Speaking of which, I wanted to see the little R-Type train in Steambot Chronicles the other day but I don’t remember when in the game you encounter it, exactly, so I wasn’t able to find it with a curosory scan of someone’s “let’s play” video. If I ever play that game again I will be sure to grab some footage of it.
i think they got split for digital releases in japan (g darius being the other one).
g darius got the m2 treatment, while i think this was a pretty basic port of dariusburst
Kinda? Playing an STG 2 player is often a very different game and if you are working on scoring mechanics, it fucks those all up.
That being said, some STGs are way more fun two player. Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga are great 2p as long as you don’t care about score too much. Pink Sweets is somehow better 2p.
It’s the last day you can preorder the disc release of Dangun Feveron PS4 from Limited Run Games. I think this is the only physical home release of this game in any territory.
blah blah blah score blah blah blah, add all the DB: AC DLC content to the main game!!! It’s formed with such care an attention that it feels a waste to have it gated behind a series of set levels only. I played the main campaign of that game thrice but the CAVE homages alone up to the forties (everyone mourns raizing dying while a loving recreation of Soukyugurentai & Garegga is right there!)
Oh yeah totally I have that on my iPhone. But the trailer I linked is for a Switch port of like an old Java version or something. Definitely not an arcade-perfect conversion, but it looks decent as its own thing. I’d play it.
