The Renga Game

Renga Game: November

Collage Edition

Now we’re going to go far off the beaten track and move into the direction of visual arts. “But how are we going to do that?” you may ask. By constructing a 3x2 composition one sliver at a time.

Consider this:

I mean, just imagine if your design were there, next to other poster’s designs. Now I’m not going to pull out a ruler to make sure you make something that is exactly 1:2 ratio. Just aim for the ballpark.

“Wow, I’m so excited to see my design there. But what kind of design are we making?” That’s probably your next question. You will make a collage of images. Feel free to use digital or physical images. Because I want to print this one day, make sure the images are black and white (or look good in black and white).

In an homage to haiku structure, I am imposing rules on your collage. The first sliver in a composition must have images from 5 sources. The second sliver must have images from 7 sources. The third sliver must have images from 5 sources. I hope you will agree that these rules are fair and balanced.

If you are interested in participating in this round, please reply to this thread with a theme idea.

My theme is Sonic the Hedgehog.
