The only competitive gamer jargon that has made its way into my speech is from the FGC: footsies, nootch, downloaded, etc
The week I got my ps4 pro the destiny raid overheated it to the point where it wouldn’t turn on for like 20 minutes. What a brave soldier…
The DS4 has become my PC controller, so I guess that’s all right, even if it’s kinda wonky even with some Steam games until you mess with Steam Input layouts and maybe DS4Windows, with DS4W in particular seeming to fix everything.
it’s both really funny and a little sad to me that they kept the original dualshock for way too long (i prefer the dual analog, on which i suspect they modeled some of the design features of the ds4), to change it for the ps4 with maybe the best controller to ever grace my hands, to then change it immediately in the next generation console. the ds4 is a reason in itself to play the ps4 imo.
personally i do get the big fan noise on some games (sf5 is the worst offender by far) but upgrading the hdd for an ssd was the best thing i ever did. got it a samsung 1tb thing and it’s a really worthy upgrade, makes it run smoother, loads faster, and removes a noise source on top
i still got quite a lot of games i need to play on it, but i also got it quite late (in 2021) but then again i’m late to almost all generations of consoles so i don’t mind.
One of the selling points of my PS5 purchase was being able to jailbreak my PS4 without worry.
sony controllers just managed to get worse each generation imo
I like my controllers small, original dual shock was closest to perfection they ever got
