which is cool and all, but it also kills every independent retailer and puts all the money in the hands of valve, sony and MS. I don’t think it’s great to have the platform holder also be the retailer

My understanding was that the big publishers still relied on chains like GameStop to help wiv the marketing side of things (which was why digital versions were required to be non-competitively priced).
Or another way to put it is, Gamestop is a worse monopoly than the digital distro monopsony and if I have to pick between two terrors I pick the latter. Not that I actually get to pick of course, all of this is happening regardless of what I think.
Feel like when Steam fuck up they get more and louder shit for it in a way a brick’n’mortar never would, simply for existing in the same cognitive space as the complaints would exist in

Good to remember that Steam is a worldwide monopoly from the US while at least countries tend to have their own bunch of retailers.

I was going to joke that he was doing the Official Game of the Movie for Godzilla vs King Kong, but that doesn’t release until 2020, I guess?
For a guy known for making games about relationships and/or giant monsters, referencing the ending from King Kong seems a bit on the nose. Perhaps it’s misdirection, or will be somewhat more obscure to Japanese fans.
Either way I guess we’ll see in like 10 years

Don’t know if this version of Daytona is actually any good but Sega released a patch that contains the full game in it which some folks got working on PC
