THE N64 SUCKS.... or does it???

once I saw a youtube video of the background noise of the ps2 bios and everyone in the comments was talking about how ‘creepy’ it was?? I don’t know what those psychopaths are talking about

i’ve seen those too!!! wtf is goin on with the kids these days man. i love the ps2 bios sound. the only thing that gave me a sense of dread about it was if it turned red and was like ’ pls insert playstation disc ’ but that wasn’t because it was ’ creepy ', it just meant my poor game didn’t work!

Has anyone played Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber? That apparently should be great… no?

It’s similar to the original Ogre Battle, it’s very ugly because it’s on the wrong console and it lacks some of the original’s alluring mystique. The cards are gone!

I couldn’t go too far into either game cause the town reputation micro management drags everything down.

I really liked the little pre-battle briefs in the N64 game though

I fuckin’ love the N64 controller I’m right there with you

i like the n64 because certain games run faster when you disable the music

the thing no one talks about when they say the n64 has no good games is like, it actually did have a lot less games released than the other systems at the time. it makes me interested in like, what PERCENT of n64 games is someone like sykels list. theres less than 400 total! theres more neopets petpets than n64 games!

the n64 has like 33 percent good games

Nope it was the kids with an imported NTSC Sega Saturn and X-Men COTA but both our realities can be valid at the same time

Sykel’s list is unimpeachable

a few weeks ago i was looking into Bomboozal (again (don’t ask)) and found out that they released a sequel for the N64:

Apparently the PS1 version of this has you playing as Kemco’s very own Kid Klown, which sadly imho is a massive downgrade over the schlub in the N64 version (I will always respect games where the protagonist is a schlub)

N64 stays winning :colonthree:

rich kids console was insisting to people on usenet that the 3do m2 was going to kill off the ps1, saturn and n64 overnight

so uh… did anyone on sb have a saturn back in the day???

@Caput_Mortuum had one i think

i used to be roommates with someone who told me about receiving a jaguar for xmas instead of a playstation and being deeply crushed

i didn’t have one but my rich friend i think had both saturn and ps1? wild experience to have. we played mostly burning rangers, sonic r, and nights. iirc he even had panzer dragoon saga, i mean before that was like impossibly hard to acquire. i wonder if he ever sold it for big buxx… the rich get richer and the little man gets screwed

i also used to rent entire consoles a lot, that was fun. the main game i remember playing on rented saturns is guardian heroes. the game simply whips

I did! My dad decided that the N64 was too silly and that the PlayStation had no future, and thus the Sega Saturn was the wave that would carry our household into the future of gaming.

He’s also a respiratory therapist with a two pack a day habit, if that tells you anything about his decision making that this story didn’t already illuminate.

i got a saturn in 2003 for £20 with sonic jam

i got one at the tail end of its life, when Electronics Boutique was selling them for like $80 new, along with Saturn Import games, which they did for a couple years for some reason.

so i don’t feel like it counts because i didn’t have it for most of its life

lol, i refer to this as “the evil ps2 boot screen” and it legit does freak me out a little bit but maybe that’s due to bad memories.
