motherfuckers trying to talk about the deep personal and cultural semiotics of injecting a drug like they’re me boring my therapist but they’re the most wanted human beings on an earth with thirteen different canonical forms of SF instaspot mass surveillance/ID sitting on top of their Super Juice Cache at the grave of one of their own family members

i managed to fully avoid falcon and winter solider but loki, just as wandavision, has the right set of genre hooks and aesthetics to trick me into caring before the inevitable classic mcu Worse Dragonball Fight. maybe the very procedural tv nature of marvel movies works better for me when it’s just an actual tv show

The keyboard in Loki episode 2 had a knockoff GMK Carbon keycap set I recognized because I’d given the same set to my brother

Not even remotely on point for the show’s other control panels, should have used higher profile caps :stampstampstamp:

Really liked this second ep of Loki, particularly the talk in the cafe and the climate disaster megamall in 2050 set piece. Real glad they’re finally giving this actor something with meat on the bone.

lol i made this joke in 2016 and now on the superman show he’s literally fighting 1940s radio show and serial villain the atom man. the superman smashes the klan version specifically

I hope the single director of every single Loki episode was paid well to shoot all of these actors on The Volume with its “dynamically, perfectly match the thousand + digital environments’ boring, flat, almost shadowless lighting… in real time! in camera!” in a way that makes reasonable use of most chances to do something visually not-boring and even atmospheric some of the time I mean I uh

I hope this is a springboard for her to do something that if-still-turgid will be so about something other than “just what is… a LOKI?” but I do like small alligator Loki and congrats on just running with Richard E. Grant’s front-and-center old man dick bulge against his yellow underoos whilst doing the largest of magics

probably Richard E. Grant had an “absolutely no digital erasure of my natural downstairs protuberance(s)” clause in his contract

turns out rick and morty episodes with most of the jokes taken out actually makes for pretty good television

uhh the loki finale ruled

it really stuck the landing in a way that improved even the places where the show dragged

weird to see a marvel product that actually explores these concepts in an interesting way without having to resort to a stupid energy fight or another villain who is literally 100% right except for randomly killing to make them evil or any big action or even a post credits scene i mean wow

to be fair it’s a cliffhanger so who knows what will happen in the end but this is a good tv season

johnathan majors is actually just a straight up great performance

i’m shocked

like i never thought that a marvel product would ascend to the level of an A- doctor who episode

like genuinely the worst part about loki is literally that it exists within the mcu so it’s setup (and sadly probably it’s payoff) are things i don’t want to watch

The Professor Gamble/TVA thing comes full circle.

Really liked that finale. No dumb slog of a battle, just a clash between two characters you’re invested in. Particularly liked the villain they picked, actually seemed like the sort of guy that would become an immortal multiverse-destroying time-tyrant.

sad it took them this long to realize that “jonathan majors sitting in a chair talking for 40 minutes” is the solution to the mcu’s lackluster anticlimax problem

I tried watching the first episode of Loki after a good 5 years of not watching any Marvel thing, because I was told (lied to) that it was remarkably un-Marvel

It struck me as smugly self-satisfied of being very well-written and having very tasteful set design

in the finale someone mentions out loud what step of campbell’s hero’s journey loki as the show’s protagonist is supposed to be on
