maybe they didn’t have all the video games in this thing, and I sure as hell didn’t watch it, but they’re doing the mario golf switch so I can’t be mad. should double it up with tennis on one cart
The NGPC SNK Vs Capcom is out.
That’s been the number 1 reason I fire up my raspberry pi regularly, so maybe I’ll finally branch out into emulating other stuff
aha miitopia is 65 canadian dollars!!
I played the triangle demo and while yes it is painfully bland and slow i thought the 2nd battle was pretty cool.
Was disappointed to find that if you get a tie in the voting section you just get to do the deciding vote as party leader
world brothers when
That Triangle Strategy demo flashes the Artdink logo on startup.
Ok everyone stop talking shit about that game now it’s gotta be good if Artdink is involved
Oh yeah and Outer Wilds was announced for Switch during that Direct.
who even remembers stubbs the zombie? among them, who even cares? what a strange thing to port.
I played about half of it when it came out. it’s… really not good. I can’t imagine it has aged well at all either.
I took it as a personal insult that no one DM’d me saying “they got a-train and densha de go in this Nintendo direct”
Can’t believe anyone would care about smash when they could be caring about trains
I think I only played the demo on an underpowered computer but I sure did listen to that cover album a lot.
I don’t know if you’ve played the original but it’s like the gaudiest game I’ve ever played, it’s truly grotesque. That game is all over the place in every way and it’s part of the charm
The remaster sadly looks less ugly to me (but it’s not a dealbreaker)
OG:

Remaster:
In the OG the playable characters (hand made pixelated 2D sprites) the enemies (3d renders turned into 2d sprites) and the background (wobbly PSX 3D) all look like they come from different games and are weirdly slapped together (while the camera zooms in and out like crazy, awfully stretching those already deformed sprites) The remaster looks more coherent
I wonder if the Legend of Mana rerelease will keep the vocal opening theme that was inexplicably in Swedish (it never came out in Europe even)
the trailer uses the intro song, so presumably it will stay. also it rules, and this game rules.
Maybe that’s what’s throwing me off! Granted it’s been decades since I rented it but it definitely didn’t appear (in that what 5 seconds of trailer) quite how I’d imagined it. Maybe I don’t want it more coherent and I’m just thrown off by any “remaster” looking more drastic than an upscale of the original but thanks for spelling this out. It still assuaged my concern a bit.
encountered this before playing the game and was convinced at first it was some kinda fandub cause why would it be in swedish?
I actually just now tried looking for an answer since it came up and found a Swedish newspaper article about it. They interview the singer Annika Ljungberg (who I think internationally people may at most know her as the female singer in the Rednex version of Cotton Eye Joe) about the subject and apparently Yoko Shimomura just wanted a song with non-Japanese lyrics from an unknown artist. Of all things she found Annika because she had heard her songs on an episode of Baywatch where David Hasselhoff was handpicking the soundtrack. A short flight over to Stockholm later with her crew they contacted Annika and had “some girl” translate the lyrics into Swedish who hadn’t even heard the song prior so it was a lot of technical work to even make it fit.
