cant get enough of garlic man
i am so pumped for the Mario Golf game, the 3DS one was pretty good. I like the weird Rush Golf mode, that looks like a lot of fun. hope the RPG elements are meatier.
i will sink a lot of time into Splatoon 3 & the Famicom Mystery games look like a casual good time that my partner and i will experience together like a middling Netflix procedural with Anime
a working warp pipe in AC seems like such a giant mechanical addition thats buried in Mario’s birthday, but hey, i might jump back on
I’ve tried that Trianglopath strategy demo, it feels pretty generic.
There’s the classic intro cutscene with a map showing three countries on the continent raging wars (sidenote: only 3?? No place for mystery here)
The plot during the first scene shows a power hungry villain who tries a blitzkrieg on an unsuspecting nation and is securing some sort of new magic power from the mines. Hmm.
In battle you choose a direction to move on a square grid, watch your character move, use a skill, then choose a direction to face. It’s somehow as slow as FFT in 2021 but also a lot uglier and there’s no cool job system.
In conversations you will accumulate points towards one ideology depending on your choice like in Mass Effect except instead of Paragon / Renegade it’s… like Ethics / Pragmatism / Freedom. (The exact terms are probably something different in English, not sure) This will make you have different allies?
Not revolutionary at all but that’s the best thing here.
Also you can walk around a bit because everyone’s released that TRPGs that don’t let you walk around a little just feel a bit weird
yeah, i didn’t play for very long and got the gist quickly. still mad that it’s called the ’ saltiron ’ war. like they couldn’t even bother to get creative with anything.
this looks like Boku no Natsuyasumi with a license

same director
I can’t find any confirmation that Millennium Kitchen (which I’m not sure really exists anymore?) is working on it, but series director Kaz Ayabe apparently is.

I’d been hoping one of these would come to the Switch. I’ll check out a Crayon Shin-chan one.
(I should probably watch Crayon Shin-chan one of these days).
Edit: what Sleazy said
I was thinking that, yeah. And I think they picked a great license to go with just for the aesthetic, those character models have some real charm
Speed Golf made me laugh
god i miss when square B-team games were at least like, weird and interesting even if they weren’t great? these bravely/octopath team games make me wanna take a nap
like please, put a good strategy rpg on the switch. i can only play fire emblem so much and i am definitely not buying a disgaea game
the new disgaea has gambits though

im glad i can play legend of mana with all the shoulder buttons on a portable instead of some fucky remapping nonsense. The new font looks terrible
Saga Frontier too
For those of you complaining the 50 minute commercial for new games is bad are you somehow out of games? Have you run out of things to play? Is satisfaction forever out of your grasp?
I think most people myself included just want more information about particular games like Bayonetta 3, SMT V, or BotW 2. These are unique games that I don’t get the same experience from elsewhere. In the case of the latter two they’re also not the same on repeat plays so new entries are important.
rudie did you even see the smash character
smh
literally got Legend of Mana PS1 in the mail yesterday smdh
Thoroughly disappointed that the Nintendo Direct was just a bunch of video games.
I downloaded the Capcom thing for the free 1943.
Then I bought some of the games on sale. Keen Dreams for 1.99! That’s a lost episode of Commander Keen! I don’t know if it’s any good or not but I’m about to find out. Also got Katamari Reroll for 9.89. Windbound was 17.99 and I remember thinking it looked like it would be good for under $20. Finally there was Feudal Alloy for like 3.99 which has some wonderful art at the very least. Definitely some good ways to spend your Nintendo points if you have any built up.
