Haven’t played a Musou since Sengoku Basara 3 and am looking forward to this as a relaxing holiday game. I’m wondering how much licence they’ve been given with the story and whether BotW2 will align in any way or be completely separate.

That initial reveal trailer with the producers talking about the game made it sound like the story was developed closely with Nintendo, so maybe it’ll be well integrated with what came before and what’s yet to come.

BotW being a sequel to every Zelda in such a way that made it completely incompatible with every ‘timeline’ ruled, IMO.

i’ve warmed up to SMB35 a bit more
honestly, the way to win seems to basically come down to patience and just taking things slowly.
i do wonder if the game has some weird lag issues, though. like i’ve had a few deaths where it felt like, no, i actually nailed that, but the game insists i held right or jump for just a second longer than i did, which, in a Mario game, means death.
or i could also just messing up

It is a “slower” game than the original, I think they tuned the physics toward more precision platforming.
They definitely lowered the max speed, but I believe there’s also less acceleration while in the air. It definitely feels like a more ground based game anyway.

Reviews seem to indicate that the tech actually works like you might expect and that just driving around in free roam mode is a fun novelty even by itself. The complaints I’ve seen, besides that the amount of content is entirely dependent on your desire and ability to build new tracks (although there are several course themes, like a snow world with ice block hazards, that you can cycle through), is that:
- the kart wheels can pick up a whole lot of garbage especially when going under your filthy beds and couches. Sooner rather then later you gotta clean those out like an old PC mouse ball
- The cardboard checkpoints they have you set up are rather flimsy which is a problem when slightly bumping into them can cause your entire course to misalign. Also, if you come through them from a sharp turn then the camera won’t always have time to register them in time causing you to completely miss them so you need to build courses with this in mind
- There’s no way to register something as an obstacle in the game which while is no problem for your real world toy kart it does mean that the AI racers and items will always be clipping straight through that stuff

My switch came in the mail a bit ago. Here is a pic of the qing of posters sticker rudie gave me (sry 4 stealing meetup valour) on it.
So far ive played a lot of virtua racing (it slams). I also beat phantasy star 1 in two days. Wow that m2 updated version is excellent. Perfect update to make an impossible ancient game breezy and palatable. That game has real good grafix.
Also played some samurai shodown neogeo collection. It’s cool but i need to just pick one of the games and get comfy with it. Anyone have a recommendation for which one?
I played Gal Metal too and i think stealing the persona structure and turning into a micro rpg where every chapter lasts 10 minutes instead of 6 hours is great but the game kinda lacks any substance. I was really hoping it would own but tbh there is no reason to play it.
Japanese Rail Sim is great. I will play more of it.
Got disaster report 4 but havent played it yet.

not super experienced with all the samsho games, but people play 5 special so it might be the easiest one to get opponents with? it’s also really good and even more one-of-a-kind than the other games
