i did see a bundle with link’s awakening for 299 so we’re getting a little more like it

honestly, the prices on mSD cards have come down so much since the system launched that I would say 64 is the minimum and 128 is what you should shoot for

also I’ve posted about them earlier but both 8bitdo and Mayflash make wireless adapters for ~20 bucks that let you use Xbone pads and DS4s on the system and odds are good you already have on of those, and they even support gyro on the DS4 (the Mayflash adapter also has a passthrough plug for wired controllers, like joysticks)

other boring crap: make multiple Nintendo accounts and assign them different regions so you always have instant access to international eshops, some of which have highly appropriate regional pricing (read: cheap/depressed pricing; I will let you figure out the morality of taking advantage of such markets for yourself and pass no judgement on any decision). I would also note which games have universal SKUs, since you can very easily bypass eshop restrictions on foreign credit cards by buying Amazon codes (I grabbed SMO and Arms at about a ten percent discount off of Amazon.jp)

buy a Hori Dpad joycon or a replacement shell with a dpad or, god forbid, the big boy Hori Daemon X Machina joycons if you get non-Lite

jesus chirst spend the 10-15 bucks on an ethernet adapter because the wifi in the system is fucking atrocious

any adapter or peripheral you can use docked via USB can be used portably with a USB-C male to USB-A female adapter (yes, even the various wired controllers or controller adapters)

I know NSO is probably a scam but it’s a cheap scam and family plan abuse makes it even cheaper and you get the dumb NES and SNES apps

speaking of apps, I hope you didn’t want to watch anything on it; the 3DS and Vita had more video steaming services available than the Switch does

Maybe try out the standard direction buttons before spending money on Joy-con alternatives or replacement shells with dpads. The direction buttons are not an issue for everyone.

re: the 8bitdo adapter, is that reliable longterm or are you holding your breath every os update?

mate this is the switch thread, we’re all wearing new balance in here

Wishing I could wear shoes other than new balance and chucks here.

Is anybody playing Luigi’s Mansion 3? I still haven’t found a review that I would find reliable…

There’s quite a bit of discussion about it on the latest episode of the 8-4 podcast if you’re interested.

It’s so fucking good.

yeah i finally got around got around to Ninja Saviors and it’s indeed wonderful.

i also started up a game of Romancing SaGa 3 for the first time. it’s…a SaGa game! but already, it feels like it has way more personality than RS2.

i think the HD Remake looks pretty good here and it would be kind of cool if they did this with some of the other SNES titles in their archives.

I thought Star Fox 2 and Kirby Super Star were already part of the SNES app :man_shrugging:

Also, there’s some new Witcher 3 DLC for Daemon x Machina:

You’re thinking of SNES Classic Mini
