The owner is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, a master modeler who will hand you his cell phone number in case you need any help with your build

Did you go in and see the dioramas he has on display? They’re incredible! The one of the ship breaching the water is almost unbelievable

I went in there after the first meetup to hide from the rain. I didn’t like Gundams then. Tom’s mom was at the counter, gossiping with another woman. I’m sorry if assuming they were gossiping is sexist, they stopped talking for a beat when I came in, to me that’s a giveaway that gossip is going on. Anyway I didn’t buy anything and left right away cuz I didn’t want to spoil their talk time. Also I didn’t have the money to buy a model kit. Probably for the best. I wasn’t ready for gunpla yet. The 9/11 tribute was very good.

oh yeah that’s a mascot I support, the 911 patlabor

the actual best time to go in is when his giggling daughters are there eating and laughing every time someone genuinely shows interest in a titty statue

While surfing in Maui, the duo claim to have tapped into an elemental truth about the universe when they met a surfer named “Zeek” who told them that “life is too short for crappy pizza,” according to the company website.

Zeek’s was the first food I ate when I moved to Seattle. I remember being shocked at how expensive it was for being so mediocre. That feeling hasn’t really stopped

never been in here, seems very Queen Anne but whatever the quality, I must document the mascots

ever wonder about the origins of the concept of a mascot?

The word ‘mascot’ originates from the French term ‘mascotte’ which means lucky charm. This was used to describe anything that brought luck to a household. The word was first recorded in 1867 and popularised by a French composer Edmond Audran who wrote the opera La mascotte , performed in December 1880. The word entered the English language in 1881. However, before this, the terms were familiar to the people of France as a slang word used by gamblers. The term is a derivative of the word ‘masco’ meaning sorceress or witch. Before the 19th century, the word ‘mascot’ was associated with inanimate objects that would be commonly seen such as a lock of hair or a figurehead on a sailing ship. But from then to the present day, the term has been seen to be associated with good luck animals, objects etc.

tl;dr witchcraft >:)

menchie’s kinda sucks, but not the worst. they overexpanded around cleveland like 10 years ago or something, and then a bunch had to close. they were nice for having sugar free stuff that wasn’t just vanilla.
