Only it’s mirrored across time, so the orders that you’re giving your army in the first mission are the orders being given to the enemy army in the final mission.
The steam page mentions doing “classic zachtronics puzzles” as a side game so there is that.
zachtronics have made straightforward tactics games before, right? i know they have refined what they do down a lot, but i can see them just doing what it looks like.
Does look like it includes some standard Zachtronics stuff from the screenshots on Steam.

But yeah, I kind of expect a gimmick on the strategy layer too. I don’t think they’ve made a straight-up tactics game before.
But they have been branching out slightly. They released that visual novel last year that I don’t think has any engineering/programming? It probably leverages the resources they usually use for the story portions of their games.
They did make a real time TCG once, Ironclad Tactics.
It was pretty cool, IIRC.
Yeah, Ironclad Tactics, the game that killed the studio for a few years
if you had no interest in engaging in personal attacks why would you join a branch of the military?
Destiny 2: Beyond Light kicks off on November 10 with Guardians traveling to Europa to investigate the threats, mysteries, and power residing there. Season of the Hunt also begins on November 10 – you will be able to start earning ranks and rewards from the Season Pass, claim your Artifact, and begin to customize it as you power it up. This Season’s story mission and new Wrathborn Hunts activity will kick off the following week on Nov 17.
Starting with Season of the Hunt, most of the Seasonal content and all of the sweet gear will be sticking around for all of year 4. We hope this alleviates some of the FOMO that has been present with past Seasons. Now you can jump back in and experience past Seasons’ story, activities, and loot anytime during year 4.

Here are some highlights:
NMH 1+2 is tempting. Hoping this indicates NMH3 isn’t too far off (or maybe this is around the time the original release was intended)
Cool that HAL is porting Part Time UFO over to Switch. I played that game on iOS and had a great old time. It basically plays like a souped-up version of one of those arcade minigames you can acquire and play in the WarioWare games. Very charming aesthetic and music too. It looks like they’ve added some kind of Great Cave Offensive style treasure hunting campaign, which is actually kind of tempting me to pick this thing up.
