regular reminder github happily sells tech to ICE and has continued to do so despite outcry from the open source community and their own employees. they’re gutless fash cowards and do not care about open source at all beyond how much profit they can extract from it
appropriate that they’re called git hub.
i had a github sticker on an old laptop of mine because it was just their little squid logo that i thought was cute and i got it for free at some convention. i only knew it was github because dudes would continually come up to me and be like “oh, you use github?” and it made me mad so i wrote “shithub” on it.
they should change their logo to a pile of shit on a hubcab.
watch this be something lame.
I’ve been wondering for a while why Sony was throwing this game under the bus by giving one of its few launch titles zero marketing. This is kinda sad and I feel bad for the devs and people that preordered despite a small launch roster. I have a softspot for British-developed vehicle combat so i dunno.
This is probably the best thing that could have happened to it. I’ve had my eye on it since it’s been a while since I’ve played a destruction derby game (and it was the first game that made me realize how good next-gen games could look), but I was curious what exactly was going on with it since there was almost no footage of it despite it supposed to being released in a few weeks. And in PS5 UI video you can see it’s pretty much a multi-player only game, so $70 + microtransactions is just way outside the range anyone except me was going to want to spend on this.
“Free” is great, though I wonder what price it’s going to be sold for after that two month PS+ window. The later release date also makes me wonder if it needed some additional dev time as well, and it’s not just a case of it getting pushed out of the way of a fairly busy last quarter and being used to fill out Sony’s release cadence next year.
I hope it comes out solid. I like the look of it so I hope the footage they’re promising for next week is good.
Yeah these are broadly my hopes as well. It could do well as a multiplayer offering in that strange launch window a la Warhawk on PS3. That 70 is gonna shift acceptable premium genres into an even tighter circle for sure.
Coming November 5th.
Looking forward to the Xbox Series XIS, a third previously unannounced console.
Shouldn’t that be the “Xbox Series [” with that bitwise OR right there?
it’s the roman numeral for the number extreme
And it’s turn-based strategy?
Calling the mid-game reveal that it’s actually an assembly-programming emulator in which you have to use turn-based orders for military units to load commands into registers.
I was going to say there has to be a twist because that looks so bog standard
you have to compile wesnoth between turns
The name absolutely has to be a clue to it…I wonder if 83 reversing to 38 ties it in to some kind of WW2-related time travel or decisions-repercussions loop.
For fucks sake what a useless preview
It’s a Lego/Unity game maker thingy
Maybe the maps just wrap around
