Also reminds me a bit of Portal 2. Because of the way that mediocre sequel likewise used its additional budget to add vegetation and pretty lighting to a cold lifeless foreboding setting that didn’t call for it
Demon’s Souls is not a game about a world teeming with activity, energy, and life. Preserve the deadness and quiet.
i bet they make the bearbugs look grizzly like bears
ooh fuzzy bear, so real
Stay tuned, the day of reckoning will come

Oh fuck this
I’m probably the one weirdo who really enjoyed their Sotc remake (and that game isn’t liked very much here in general from what I remember) but that sums up really well what they did to that game in filling up a lot of areas with unnecessary foliage and HD showcase bullshit that detracts from the desolate loneliness the PS2 one had.
The Halo Anniversary remasters did this too.
boy yeah that sure sums it up lol
step in the right direction I guess but I’d still rather play the original than what I’m seeing
yeah idk I feel like portal 2 nailed the atmosphere mostly. but it wasn’t trying to recreate the vibe of the original either.
i regret to inform you that i think final fantasy 16 looks dope as hell
a more final fantasy 12 like final fantasy 15 for the playstation 5
i do really hate that square cannot seem to make a trailer that is not just full of exposition dialogue that doesn’t actually mean anything
well, make that two.
I’ve the PS2 PAL version, the PS3 ICO-Bundle, and the PS4-version, and each has its own charme. As you mentioned, the PS4 variant feels less desolate, or rather more alive than the other two. Which actually is a good thing, since it makes it worth to replay each of them at their own time.
The PS2 one for late autumn, PS3 for springy PS4 for summer?
Something like this, i’d say
That’s definitely an interesting angle to the variations of that world over the years, wow. It makes sense in the seasonal, organic way you put it.
re: spider-miles, i think it’s cool that both the original and this one try to include scenes of spider-man actually like helping people instead of just beating people up, but i wish there was a way they could design those sequences around something other than qtes and button smashing.
does anyone know if this is actually like a full game? i feel like the last i heard was it was kind of an uncharted: lost legacy not-dlc but not-full game either thing
Yeah this is also one of the reasons why I like Metroid Fusion but hate Zero Mission with a burning passion
Fuck i hate this demons souls remake
This is what you’d get if you did a random survey of gamers who emulated demon’s souls and went, “ehh it’s alright but they really improved the gameplay in the rest of the series” and asked them what they specifically would like from a remake, and did that
Why does my guy scream every time he kills someone now. is that what gamers want
I think Uncharted Lost Legacy was still like 12 hours long, so I think if you’re reusing enough of the same assets and not progressing the story of The Main Character then to Sony you’re not fit to have an identity as you’re own game.
I think back when it was revealed someone here brought up the original’s Vanguard as looking like a lovable creature one would want to buy a plush toy of, but the version here looks all washed-out, drab and ruined as if it sat out in the sun too long, like the rest of the game.
“the budget for this was a svelte $40 million instead of $150 million, we’d feel bad charging full price running a full-expense marketing campaign”
WWUUUUGGHHHH
EAAAUUGHHH
i think it’s also a fundamental lack of any sincere engagement with the idea of art too, they just literally don’t think about it. if you told them ps3 demon’s souls looks better than this shit they wouldn’t even comprehend what you were saying, it’s all nothing to them
god i hated that trailer
and i fuckin wish it looked like dark souls 3, are you kidding me !!!
