STUNLOCK THE PRESSES: combo breaking news (Part 1)

Does this battery issue affect DS / 3DS too, or just PSP?

my psp-1000 battery looked ok (???)

(i put it somewhere where it couldn’t burn down the house anyway)

someone post pix of their bulging battery

The giveaway for me is the bulging label on the back. It’s kinda hard to tell if the front is bulging due to the shape of the battery, but I’m pretty sure that label should be flat. Also, the battery cover popped off pretty hard from the pressure.

Your PSPs put on a few pounds during quarantine and you get rid of them? For shame.

The protagonist looks a lot like Kyril from Suikoden Tactics.

marisa is the stand-out design.

i hope there’s a silent protagonist mode.

(eta: as i was posting this, the game was a bit under reaching its goal, now it’s surpassed it only a few minutes after making this post!)

i hope they didn’t change anything about the incredibly stupid ending monologue because it always makes me laugh

Suikoden is my favorite JRPG series and I never thought we’d see anything like it again so I’ve had the kickstarter page open in my other monitor like a weirdo watching the total rise like it’s some kind of Idler game. Hope the world still exists by the time it comes out.

A really minor thing but I actually like this kind of feature. Don’t know how they would make every developer make these loads fit a universal interface comfortably but I’d love the option to go straight to a certain section without a prerequisite save file.

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2020-07-28-playstation-5-feature-which-lets-you-load-specific-parts-of-a-game-detailed

The PS4 actually has this feature already but I think like only a handful of exclusives from the early days really used it. For Killzone you could browse matchmaking playlists and friends’ matches from the OS and the game would boot directly into matches.

I think I heard one impediment to other people using that feature was licensing agreements that required the displaying of logos at the beginning of the game, but I also file stuff like this into the ā€œno one will use it if it’s a console exclusive featureā€ bucket. Unless like it’s super easy to drop into your game maybe.

Grounded is out now. It has this interesting accessibility option.

people beg for this almost as much as the Linux port folks and I can’t tell if they’re joking or not, or if it’s an internet ā€˜quirk’ like ā€˜pet the dog’

Not sure how I feel about it being under accessibility. However, it has been successful in getting The PR as I’ve seen several writeups (from ā€˜quirky’ writers) based on a press release presumably talking this up

The chances I play Grounded are low, but honestly thank god for that. Please more arachno/entomophobe modes.

oh shit this is really cool

According to that totally realistic movie 8 Legged Freaks, the really big ones make the Daggerfall Skeleton scream
