ubisoft is the worst
simultaneously the most insidious and boring of all the big publishers

I still have no idea how the siege team is unscathed from either a dev or a community management perspective

they also do the “diversity of player characters” thing genuinely well in a way that subtly expands the universe of options and is not pandering and idk how they do it

I don’t know when this trend started but Ubisoft seem obsessed with building a hollow anti-corporate political gloss to their games for the sake of framing their player as a resistance member/revolutionary/subversive.

For some reason I conflated this with the bizarre reveal for Infamous Second Son which isn’t even Ubisoft.

If I can’t piss on Thatcher’s grave then what’s the point of Watch Dogs: Legion?

rainbow six siege is the most “hire women guards” videogame in the world and I worked with an incel named rick at my last job who had a 3d printed sweatshirt with some polish girl from siege on it and jacked off to her every day. so of course you like it

The game I stopped playing after I found out you make the ‘Good’ meter go up by helping your cop brother and ‘destroying drugs’.

Remember getting so excited watching this live for the first time right up until exactly 10:55. In fact it was even documented:

ela or zofia?

to your point, it’s obviously not like a tom clancy game can ever escape the semiotics of being a tom clancy game, but I’m still gratified that they’ve managed to make their “hero shooter” comic book protagonist designs closer to tekken than to, say, overwatch, and I do think that the real-world internationalism flatters them. even if it’s in the service of like, Ubisoft’s standard of diversity, that team does good work.

I will not dignify that question with a response

obviously it’s just a coincidence that like, 90% of the female operators have their ass busting out of their pants right

I mean no obviously not

claiming that they aren’t sexualized, are you joking

it’s not really good diversity if they are specifically appealing to the male gaze!
