starfox is just like gaiares in that it fucking owns
I don’t think Mobius invented thin lines combined with pastel colors. And anyway even if he did what would it matter? His work is great and credit where it’s due but since he won’t live forever it should be plagiarized because my demand for it is insatiable.
I really want to contribute to this topic close to my heart and not dump a shitpost into this but can only think of the why not both girl meme wrt PD/SF. They’re both great and this might be derivative but still good so…I’m not complaining about more competent rail shooters being available.
Moebius and his influence is definitely more than just that.
You’re right! And I don’t mean to say that’s all it is just that it’s the first thing I noticed the first time I was exposed to it and found it pleasing to look at. Which is what I was getting at in my original comparison about which game is more pleasing to look at in the moment.
Though it’s fair to say maybe you shouldn’t name drop another artists work in promoting your own if you’re only doing a shallow imitation or something? I don’t know. As you can probably tell I’m not putting a ton of effort into these takes.
But seriously star Fox as a series has like two good games and I am fascinated why the 3D Rail Shooter is so hard to time.
The person who did the illustrations for the ending credits for the first Panzer Dragoon was a gentleman called Ryuichiro Kutsuzawa. He was a very well-known artist with a strong cult following among illustrators. […] You might be familiar with the character design he did for Wachenröder or Front Mission Alternative .
Cool
Last I read Moebius only drew the cover and had nothing to do with the rest of the game.
I think it’s fine to rip off whatever, for the record. I just had flashbacks to the other day where I saw yet another game that wholesale ripped off Mike Mignola and how tired that made me feel.
I was just saying, I don’t think Sega was ripping off Moebius that much, and if he objected, I’m sure he wouldn’t have signed off on drawing the cover.
I object, though, to ripping off people’s style, et cetera, and calling it an “homage” (or whatever). I feel the same way about video games, too (it seems like somebody is always coming out with something that looks like Earthbound).
Oh yeah, I spent years admiring what a good job they did aping his style and then I learned he actually drew it and I thought that was cool.
It’s totally an unofficial Arzach game though. Feels like at least half the games and comics coming out of Japan in the late 20th century heavily lifted from Moebius but I don’t think anyone did it as well as Panzer Dragoon. It’s cool. We are probably all agreeing!!
This would be the post where I would insist on how Star Fox 2 is good and how that means there are 3 good games with the words “Star Fox” in the title, except Star Fox 2 is not really a Star Fox game it’s more like Starglider Tactics or something so I guess your point would still stand.
However I haven’t actually played either of Argonaut’s Starglider games, so I’ll refrain from actually making that poast.
~restraint~
I’m mostly interested in this game because it’s made using godot. I think it looks rad too. star fox is rad!
Slippy fucks.
was worried by the disturbingly high fps but then realized that portable switch mode will be the true edf experience
very forward thinking and considerate of Nintendo to make such a well supported long-frame enthusiast platform in the undocked Switch
The Switch Lite is the ______ of the 2020s
Nvidia Shield
Is it not just the new PSP?
The Switch Lite has decent exclusives but it’s portable-only and transfer options are pretty limited between regular Switch. Lite’s sold about 7 mil at this point.
It could just be the Switch of the 2020s.
Switch Lite doesn’t have the UMD factor of the PSP.
