I am getting ripped and torn up as Boxer. Normals don’t seem that good. c.MP so stubby. I guess you’re supposed to play him as a mixup character? But like, doesn’t seem like there’s much to actually fear? Vskill followup doesn’t seem plus on block. Coulda thrown us a bone and given him a crossup and make his s.HP Crush. Combofiend hyped up his high damage output but doesn’t seem as such. I think we’ve got another Alex here, fun but going to be a struggle. Prob. just need to git gud, though. EX dash punches are real fast, and catching someone sleeping with dash -> v-skill -> overhead is fun. Seems quite tricky to pass through fireballs with the dash -> v-skill.

Yeah, Baby’s First Crush-Counter combo is just s.HK, cr. MP, rush punches. I dunno, I’m enjoying mashing his buttons!
I like this game and I think in a lot of ways it is real smart, even if its easy to disagree with: but sometimes it does feel like it is too focused on frametraps and becomes Frame Data Homework : The Game.
I think in general it’s intended to focus the game on offense in service of user agency and watchability.
Triple the damage on anti-airs, give everyone a good one. Make everything negative on block. One button throws, one button techs. No combos off of lights. This is my hot take way to fix all fighting games/ruin them into 2D Bushido Blade.
That works on a normal hit too. HK is +3 on block as well. Lots of plus frames all around but you really have to be in your opponent’s face to get an offense going it seems. You’ll get crushed out of v skill all day if you don’t have the advantage and he has no armor on his ex dash punches. Turn punch is safe on block, though.

Yep. I kept trying to use standing HK on wakeup but was usually spaced too far out to capitalize on it. Bad habits from other games. God damn EX low rush is fast, though.

this dude’s combos are pretty fun
really though I can’t play as balrog in the slightest in this game. I can’t win a match. I just keep not having a character I’m comfortable with in this game.
Then let us remember the good old days, when pure two button zen thuggery was enough.
