Steven Universe, don't tumblr my rocks!

WOW those episodes were great! This is still the only TV show that can make me cry. That Volleyball episode was really moving. It’s amazing to me the deep well of emotion and interpersonal nuance this Cartoon Network show regularly accesses.

Is Kimberly Brooks voicing every quartz that isn’t an Amethyst?

I SAID SHE’S FUCKING GONE

There’s an official one of these now.

A few fan videos appeared within nanoseconds of broadcast, as one might expect. But, credit for the relative response time from the social media team here.

i’m annoyed but not surprised that everyone assumed that was a reference to lofi beats instead of Whisper of the Heart

i’m sure the crewniverse meant both anyway

A reminder that we are in fact back on a regular schedule, somehow. So there are two more episodes coming tonight, in about 50 minutes (8 PM EST).

The livestream link from above should still work.

And for those who couldn’t do it live, here’s a make-do until higher quality versions are available.

Summary

So, I was wondering on broadcast, and… yes, it’s the Dove studio.

There’s Lamar Abrams as director, with Peridot.

High quality streaming updates here pretty quickly

That’s a good resource for a couple-days-later, yeah. The good-quality episodes have been taking a while to propogate for Future, for whatever reason. It wasn’t until yesterday that they appeared on torrent sites, and I know that people who paid for season passes on Amazon or whatever were asking all through the weekend when the darned things would appear in their accounts.

But once they do appear, it is worth seeing them in high res, with a proper sound encode (which is important for this show), and the intended end credits. Since they’re building up a new song again…

Ah, I just checked for the first time today, I didn’t realize they were lagging behind that much.

The new ending theme is really good though I would not miss that

The theme for Mega Pearl is called “Prince Pearl.”

Cripes. So, 9:00 on Monday for this past batch? Yikes. Over two days later, for some reason.

EDIT: Anyway, the link a few posts above should work again for livestreaming today’s batch at 8 PM EST.

The first episode, “Snow Day,” seems to be another Maya Petersen/Etienne Guignard jam, they of “Volleyball” vintage. Petersen has been vaguely ranting about how much she likes this episode, and that if you’re expecting another “Volleyball,” then sorry, it’s nothing like “Volleyball.”

The second, “Why So Blue?”, is by Amish Kumar (“Guidance,” “A Very Special Episode,” the “No Matter What” sequence from the movie) and… Warren something. I don’t know who “Warren” is. Kumar is unsure if Joe Johnston will be credited, but thinks he should be considering the amount of work he did.

That’s the Lapis overload one.

Yep, Petersen/Guignard. The “Warren” is Warren Fok.

(That last one is by Jeff Ball for some reason, the show’s regular violinist.)

Reminded again of how lapis lazuli has a high sulfur content, so has a tendency to smell like farts and rotten eggs.

So here’s what we’ve got so far of “Being Human.”

I as always am doing things the wrong way and started watching the show more or less with the movie and Future (I only caught half of the movie) (I caught a number of the eps leading up to the movie after catching the movie). For anyone who cares it isn’t that hard to follow this way! I’m sure that I’m missing some references, and it probably has a knock on effect of Steven coming off worse than he would otherwise, but has still been a good time.
