Just to say randomly, I like the slight lisp that Uzo Aduba gives to Bismuth. It’s not prominent, but it’s unapologetically there. And somehow that strikes me as pretty neat, in combination with how butch her character is. Like, different people have different vocal characteristics.
(Speaking as someone who was put in counseling in grade school as a result of a lisp.)
So the storybook adaptation of “Change Your Mind” is interesting, adding details (including a background shadow of Spinel) and telling the story from several conflicting perspectives that force you to turn the book and hold it various ways. And then it ends with this dedication:
As IanJQ clarified, it’s not a sixth season; Steven Universe, as such, is officially over. This is a new follow-up show. Now that Steven has basically addressed everyone else’s problems, the focus has shifted to Steven himself, and what’s wrong with him.
It sounds like it’s meant to be a relatively short run. All evidence suggests the one season they’ve recorded is about the length of a normal season of SU, and it’s unclear what if anything may come after that.
Watch Steven Universe Z become massively more popular than the original and watch as the staff tries desperately to get it cancelled and move on with their lives writing increasingly absurd plots that do nothing but get them even more viewers.
Apparently the movie got CN’s highest ratings for any programming since August 2017.
I don’t know the crew’s plans for this series, but I get the sense that CN wouldn’t mind if it went on for a while.
A bunch of people recently left, including some who’ve been there since the start. But then, they just hired a few new people who only started work in August, so. Dunno what’s happening!
ive watched this a bunch, and its great and full of awesome little details overall but the villain shot in particular is driving me wild. i wanna know what is going on with every single one of those guys. also THERE’S JASPER
This feels like the best and most dynamically animated segment of the show so far. It’s all really wonderful but the bit at the beginning where Diamond’s arms swing in view and a lot more people appear as the voices increasd was a nice surprise and way to communicate how the world has expanded.
