Does it no longer have a multiplayer part? I know the original Xbox version was built around MP, but did the PC version lose this for some reason, or do you mean that it is just dead in terms of users?
I wanted to play it to satisfy my Weirdo Japanese Games thing which is primarily what kind of games ive always played
Guilty Gear 2 is great and the PC port does have MP. Weāve arranged some matches in the Discord back when it came out but weāve always lacked a fourth person, meaning there was always one CPU player.
I canāt imagine it having an active online population without pre-arranging matches though, even ignoring how Ranked Matches still havenāt been added yet. The game was rushed to release for April Fools so itās had features progressively added as time went on. Additionally Iād say you should be playing with a controller because Mouse and Keyboard configurations arenāt in yet either.
how does Morrowind cost that much? everyone who worked on it is dead now
Yeah this kind of interconnects with what I was saying earlier. I feel like now that Valve has so much control over the PC as a platform, they no long really have to encourage developers to slash games so much. The great thing about the Steam sale for me in the past was being able to get a good amount of videogames for medium cost.
Now itās still going to roughly run me forty bucks for the three five year old games I want
I managed to find a few deep cuts for really cheap. Iām mostly ok with the haul. Got all the games Iāll need until Christmas. Not gonna bother adding anything to the wishlist anymore, though. Most of the stuff thatās high on my list is too new to get much of a discount on, anyway,
I donāt think this is Valve exerting monopoly power to get their sweet sweet 30%, I think itās developers taking a collective step away from the ledge.
Valve is open enough with their data and recommendations you can see them always advocating for the health of the Steam ecosystem. They originally pushed deep discounts because it was a net revenue enhancer. Now that the culture has come to roost they are pushing indies to price higher, as they can prove a dedicated audience will not be so price-sensitive.
Well, then Iāve been effectively priced out of the Steam ecosystem. I think it probably factors into a return to piracy for me.
Itāll definitely satisfy your Weirdo Japanese Games thing. I figured since it was the most expensive thing on the list it would have the biggest swing on your cost. =)
you could also do what I do and just refund stuff more often. from looking over the past several months, I spent $30 each on stephenās sausage roll, offworld trading company, and superhot, and refunded them all when I realized I didnāt quite like them enough.
I wish! I donāt buy Steam games that regularly unfortunately, so my library is cluttered with things I bought years ago and never really played or played and didnāt enjoy, but are far far beyond the cutoff for steam refunds.
The last game I purchased before Hard Reset Redux (I got for 3.00 for owning the original which is something I like that Steam does) was in January
my Weirdo Japanese Games thing
everythingās better
down whereās itās weirder
I second this but prefer the sequel Ace of Seafood, something about the controls and HUD make me think itās as close as weāll get to a followup to Iremās Sub Rebellion. Also real sea creatures were scanned in for the 3D models(!!!) Having trouble visualizing how that was done, but.
I didnāt know I need this, but now I do
YOU GET TO CONTROL UNIQUE CREATURES LIKE LOBSTERS, CRABS AND BARNACLES, IN A WILD WATER WORLD THAT EXCEEDS ALL HUMAN SENSE.
Dang, I have Neo Aquarium but I was never notified a sequel came out! Neo Aquarium is unfortunately kind of a pain to figure out for how amazing the theme is.
I bit on the You Donāt Know Jack party packs, should be great fun if I can manage to gather a group. I played the bejeezus out of that series growing up and this iteration has gotten really strong reviews.
Has anyone here heard of Th Gate of Firmament? This is an entry of a Chinese RPG series called Yuan Xuan Sword and Iām intrigued since I donāt know a lot about CRPGs. I just happened to see this today but this English version has been out since February. I get the feeling it probably isnāt great but I am curious as to the kinds of tropes and mythologies it pulls from since my game exposure is almost always US, āEUā, or Japan based.
I still bring out vol 1 and vol 3 at parties, I should really try the newer ones sometime
I have actually been looking to play a yuan xuan sword game for ages, thanks for this post
