I would recommend against Antichamber. It has some cool moments with non-euclidean spaces but the controls are finicky enough to often be more of an obstacle than the puzzles themselves, it can be too backtrack-heavy and while there are some nice puzzles in there on average I’d say the puzzle design is a bit lacking. I had hopes for the game but ultimately I don’t think that it is really worth it.
did it really have puzzles?
I thought it was aesthetically cool but the puzzle design was nonexistent.
I mean… it had stuff you had to solve, I think that would qualify as a puzzle of sorts. I’d describe it as under-designed for sure though.
I had fun with Antichamber but it has been trumped by The Talos Principle at this point as the standard FPS puzzlers should hold to.
suggest necrodancer, and i also bought life is strange
dont know most of the rest
hell ya antichamber imo, i really enjoyed the ‘aha’ moments in that game
tho i got stuck and never returned to it… so ya know
Bought a bunch of neat looking cheap stuff
Oh and last week I got Stardew Valley to play on a plane flight… It really sucks on a touchpad
You can play with just keyboard controls, I’m not exactly sure why I didn’t just connect a gamepad but this is how I played for about sixty hours on a macbook.
I said I’d buy umihara kawase when I saw that it ended up on steam a year and a half ago somehow, so I did. it’s probably the first game I’ve bought in a steam sale in two years. lets see how long it takes me to play it.
(wait no I bought undertale during a sale last year. I have maybe possibly not played it yet.)
Stardew i play with keyboard as well, it’s fine? never thought to use pad tbh
I need to earn 4 more cents to pay for my three modest purchases entirely through my existing Steam balance. (868-Hack, Knights, and Finding Teddy)
Huh, the mouse cursor would kind of randomly move to new spots and screw up where my action would happen
Let’s all buy Faeria because it looks super cool and I just bought it
just buy the soundtrack and listen to it while you play something else
guys i bought all these games I didn’t need to buy…
I have a problem.
I bought bioshock 2 yesterday in what must have been some kind of fugue state
That’s okay, BS2 is the good one
I always come out of these sales feeling like I ended up as slave to weird twisted logic. Like I really want Just Cause 3, but I refuse to buy it for myself because I haven’t started nearest equlivant Mad Max from the previous sale. So rather than spending $35 for a game I’m really hyped about, I end up spending nearly that much on a bunch of cheaper games that I’m not nearly as enthusiastic about. Likewise I have forbidden myself from getting Dark Souls 3 until I finish 1 (and Demon Souls and 2, depending on how I’m feeling).
One day I’m apparently going to have an RPG Maker game binge, but that hasn’t happened yet. Hell, one day I’m apparently going to make an RPG Maker game.
Pretty happy about $99 Sony Vegas though. It’s already come in useful.
was it the draw of JP LeBreton? I appreciate enough of his work that I have a suspicion that maybe BS2 is good in some way despite the stench of the BS brand.
i have this exact problem. feels like misplaced thriftiness.
I got Transformers Devastation out of this sale, and I am comfortable calling it the best Platinum game. So much good stuff there.
