i rewatched rogue one over the weekend, and it’s shocking how good a framework for serialised star wars side stories that was…
glad to finally have an attempt at more in that form (it didn’t have to be this literal, but i’ll take it)
wee-woo wee-woo hell yeah the only quality lawyer movie
well shit i wasn’t gonna watch this but what am I supposed to do now
i mean it is a star wars show so the smart move is to wait until the season is over to see if it takes a big nosedive
I hope Diego Luna finally gets to touch Jabba.
the droid is named b2emo
quality programme
glad to have the rogue one version of star wars back with spectacular acts of terrorism and a middle manager fascist antagonist you love to hate
the little reverse delay string score at the end of the third episode is violently emotionally manipulative. reminds me of the sia song from the six feet under finale. i haven’t really been made to feel anything in star wars since rogue one’s novel death star attack from the surface but they did it
it was
This is unbelievably weird. Apex 2022 moment. I really hope that guy actually finds this work to be as fulfilling as he says it is in the article but also even if that is sincere… Where does that kind of devotion to work come from. Damn
i suspect it’s an organ i do not have
andor’s space opera worldbuilding is fuckin luxurious. the sheer texture of this thing is fantastically human and natural and character based i don’t know how they pulled it off
im currently listening to the AMCA podcast about the first three episodes, and i think they nail it pretty early on describing it as not bringing any cynicism to making a star wars show. it’s cynical about things in that narrative of that world, but not as filmmakers approaching it.
the chief of the secret police analogizing their work to practicing medicine is so twisted and bare it’s the first dialogue that feels actually chilling
the bar is low but it’s just excellent
even though I didn’t really like Rogue One, between this and the endorsements here, sounds like Andor is something I should watch
subtext is just easter eggs for hipsters
the funny thing about this video in retrospect is that in episode 4, one of the ones she watched there are like…a lot of easter eggs including a scene where there is literally just a guy who collects stuff and it’s a bunch of random shit from KOTOR and Force Unleashed or whatever they are just like slightly farther in the extended universe than “a thing from another movie”.
That said they are basically unobtrusive if you do not interact with fandom spaces
Giving Cassian a Bryar pistol is adorable.
Andor is good but does anyone else feel weird how much it just seems like remixing plot elements from Solo?
