The pit droids were my favourite, I had that podrace game on N64 and I would always just dump my race winnings into as many little robot guys as I could. It was just good to see them running around.

Was there ever some expanded universe thing to explain why obi wan just changed his first name to “ben” and kept the rest if he was in hiding as like a space war criminal for however many years. Is that like if saddam had gone into hiding by just moving to some random town and calling himself “john hussein” without changing anything else about his appearance. And everyone around notices but is just like “nah… couldn’t be”.

Same, I figured it was a natural drift from the state of the universe. Obi Wan remembers a “more civilized age”, but that was in the past, and now those more elegant names get shorted to blunter versions. Luke, Leia, Han, and his pet alien bulldog Chewy.
