its also a fantastic way to get the actual actors to bond and grow as their characters. early season character building episodes are amazing because you watch the real, actual, ACTOR bonds happen that HOLDS THE CHARACTERS THEY’RE PLAYING TOGETHER. like the reason star trek is so compelling for me is its obvious HOW MUCH the cast bonds and likes and cares about eachother, and they always have those goofy ‘everyone gets drunk/sick/kidnapped’ episodes early on to teambuild. i think its the best star trek version of this yea
season 1 of ds9 also has the amazing episode, dramatis personae, where the command staff gets possessed by evil space ghosts and starts chewing scenery that I also love for similar reasons
me and my dad almost went to a con in Chicago for a avery brooks meet and greet and its like the most ive ever wanted to go to a star trek convention in my life, but my mom sabotaged the trip because she is a dukatist
I’m still slowly going through Strange New Worlds. The two episodes that I’ve liked least are the storybook one and the one with the cartoon characters. Too silly for my taste.
That said, I just watched the musical episode and I really liked it. I guess any silliness there was overshadowed by how good a job they did with it.
