wow this rocks! gonna take some time before i can integrate these into the main list but this is extremely appreciated

i appreciate you including screenshots. my next step with this list was to try and get at least one screenshot of every game i possibly could and then publish it on medium or something for accessibility and longevity, etc. but i got distracted and thought it was good enough as-is. i still wanna do that, though.

I need to know everything there is to know about Rolemaster Magestorm, stat! Apparently you can still play it here: https://gamemodi.net/#magestorm.

I’ve never heard of this game and am now learning that Mythic Entertainment made three (three!) Rolemaster games. I had heard that Dark Age of Camelot was originally based on Rolemaster, so this does line up. I just had no idea they actually released not one, but multiple games based on the system.

I could do the screenshot thing, but then it wouldn’t be in the first post and I’d just steal them from mobygames anyway lol. I do like the simplicity of your list, images would make it look pretty busy and harder to load.

I just realized that what I listed as Smuta / Distemper (1997, Russian) you have listed as Troubles - The Living Dead / Смута - Ожившие мертвецы (Win, 1997). But yeah, I don’t think you have the sequel Rasing Dead.

Also Poom (Amiga, 1994) I can only find on the internet as Poom 0.2, an unfinished engine that isn’t really a “game”. I think it would be good to mention that, because I got all excited for a minute and then there was disappointment. Similar to looking up screenshots for what turns out to be another Pie in the Sky. Adding PitS in brackets would be cool.

@jjsimpso:
Wikipedia says there was three. Darkness Falls seems to be a MUD but I can’t find anything on Bladelands, wonder if it was even released.

But if there will be screenshots I nominate this for NAM:

Yeah, I couldn’t find anything on Bladelands either. The only Rolemaster-based game I was aware of before this was the commercial MUD Gemstone III. Darkness Falls sounds like it may have been similar.

battle wheels on the lynx, an incredibly impressive vehicular combat game. makes you wonder if a decent port of wolfenstein 3d might have been possible on the hardware, which would have been an incredible coup for a handheld in 199x

wtf how do you find these things even

very cool and weird and bizarre and unique!

sadly it does not (appear to) meet the requirements for my list as there is no free-turning, only rigid 90-degree-incremented, blobber-style movement on a grid…

ah, i couldn’t really tell if it was free turning or rigid form the video, so i erred on the side of inclusion
