it should be noted that Marza is a Sega-owned entity as their CG house and also are the credited co-producers of both of the live action movies with Blur (who did the Shadow cutscenes)

the bosses in superstars are such a tedious waiting game even with the clones that i think i genuinely prefer the sonic 4 bosses all things said and done

i had a pretty glowing post sitting in this thread for the past few days i never got around to editing, but yeah
overall i really like Superstars and it really gives me Sonic CD vibes in very-particular ways, and overall it feels like the best one of ātheseā that theyāve made.
that said, iām on the last boss and almost canāt be bothered to finish it because of how long it takes after dying. bosses where you have to wait are my least-favorite kind of boss (my wife can attest to this based on how much yelling i did during Luigiās Mansion 3 bosses) and this one simply is not fun. the others could be annoying but were usually over quick enough - this last boss (i mean presumably idk if thereās another hidden zone after this one like S3&K) just sucks. every sequence takes forever, you have very few rings to work with and donāt get any re-ups for stage 2. i mean itās sort of āold schoolā but itās also sort of ābullshitā

this last boss was a slogging boring nightmare, might have been one of the worst classic style bosses iāve done in a while because of how much you have to do again everytime you die
overall i definitely cooled on my initial warm impressions of this game but there are some neat little things here and there. i agree it feels like a really great āone of theseā but thereās a lot of parts that feel too overlong or over padded. the aesthetic hook is cute and i mean i tolerated it enough to get all the emeralds but im not sure its worth it enough to play the entire whole game again with a new character to complete the thing
