my favorite overlapping story bit so far has been Knuckles seeing Sonic & Tails passed the fuck out in the street and he just goes “huh wonder what those guys are up to?? oh well, anyway”
Saw Sonic 3 movie and thought it was cute. The crowd was really into it. Looking forward to time travel shenanigans in Sonic 4 if they’re adapting stuff from CD

wow Perfect Chaos is genuinely one of the worst final boss fights ive ever played!!!
edit: alright after like 2 dozen tries i did it lol. as i was hoping, complaining online broke the seal
seriously holy shit they took my complaint about losing all momentum when you bump something & weaponized it against me
the part where “Open Your Heart” kicks up is rly fucking cool though… the first few times

OKAY YEAH that was mostly a very fun game even though it kinda shat itself during the last scenario… i really like the story of Chaos and Tikal on paper, its cute that you not only use the Power of Friendship but do it specifically to calm the villain & break the cycle of violence instead of just kicking his ass & sealing him back in a can again. but the bad story flagging & weird choreography & stilted dialogue/acting that i found charming before let it all down, it was too much of a reach and not enough grasp. I look forward to watching the Sonic X adaptation (and im only kinda joking)
also… everyone in Station Square is totally fuckin dead, right?? like there’s a part during the pre-boss cutscene where they make it seem like people are maybe cheering for sonic… from somewhere in this destroyed flooded city… but nah i saw that cutscene all those people are graveyard dead man. The burger shop guy and the lady who has a crush on him? dead. the little girl in front of the train station? RIP
Sonic’s story is the best for pure gameplayin’ (being the most fleshed out & varied) but i had a good time with all of them, really – even Big’s which i was dreading cuz im pretty neutral on fishing games, and i didnt care about the character much or like Jon St John’s stupid idiot voice for him. BUT he grew on me!! like i found him rly endearing by the end. guy just loves his frog. Also it doesn’t hurt that his and Gamma’s scenarios are basically glorified subgame bonus modes that took me less than 2 hours each. and fishing Froggy out of Chaos is a super cute anticlimax
best stories were Tails’ and Amy’s and im only partly saying that because they’re my favorite characters. I love that Tails gets to self-actualize and be a hero and get cheered on by the (soon to die in kaiju attack) citizens; i love that Amy’s story is her just trying to do a nice thing for a flicky family & that she eventually gets fed up with the Nemesis chasing her around & beats its ass. I would play a game that was all about her hammer flip mechanics
oh yeah and while Gamma’s story was impossible to take as seriously as the game wanted me to, its still a neat effort at a tone shift and the way it tied into the Amy story was fuckin heartwarming. That’s my final verdict, this game’s got helluva heart

What are the chances of us getting any of the Archie comic characters in future movies? Or is that all scorched earth now to avoid the looming spectre of a Litigious Penders?
Also waiting for the supposed adaptations of Streets of Rage and Altered Beast that are supposedly in the pipeline to see if they try to tie them into the Sonic movies to force some Sega Cinematic Universe
They could make Marsden’s cop guy buddies with Axel and Blaze and then have him become the ESWAT guy. Bring in Amazon Kiryu because he’s probably got nothing else to do now

the Freedom Fighters at least are all owned by Sega but i doubt they’re ever getting pulled out of mothballs, much as i would love to see Bunny Rabbot kick some ass

it won’t top the woman/hedgehog kiss, but the part in sonic 06 where mephiles shows the historical record of shadow getting hung on a cross is a really underrated part of how batshit that game is
